I love the first one.
For those who arenât sure about Firefox/Firefox-based browsers, this is going to be important to watch
Also from 24m40s you will hear a lot of great stuff and good actions taken by Mozilla to prevent 1 company from taking over the World.
Sure FF isnât fully private and Mozilla collects data and stuff you will say, well this is why you need Firedragon!
Now you have my attention, though I think I still prefer the more minimal style of the original. I feel it fits better with the Beautyline icons (most of the icons have an amount of transparency in the âmiddleâ), though should I ever get around to trying other themes my thoughts may change.
We will see what Beautyline give us for Floorp
Something like that?
Perfect! Many thanks.
Hello everyone, when exactly will the new FireDragon be officially integrated into Garuda Distros?
Goggleâs will ATTEMPT to kill adblockers. They have been threatening ths for YEARS and YEARS and havenât pulled the trigger. Then you have the FACT that it is possible for forks of Chromium / Chrome to remove the privacy-violating parts of the code.
That said I have an odd issue. When we lost power the other day every morning after the PC sits more than a few hours I have to force shutdown using the shutdown button on the tower, then power it back on. My issue is that I click Firedragon-next and after a few seconds I get told itâs already running and it never opens. I check System Monitor and I see nothing that looks like it relates to FN. I would just logoff or reboot but for some reason since the power outage they just sit and spin forcing me to have to force shutdown using the power button which you know when the system comes back up that way everything that was running will be running again, so whatever process that is stopping FN from fully launching is still running. Iâm leary of stopping and restarting the desktop itself to see if that will address the issue because of the problem logging off and restarting. Any thoughs and or ideas? Thanks.
I donât know whether this is relevant, but i think itâs worth a mention.
Iâm currently using Floorp and will move over to the new FireDragon when itâs sorted.
I use a dongle to connect to the internet and over the past week or so Iâve noticed that my download speed has been awful - less than 100KB/s. It has been like using an old dial up modem.
I initially thought the problem might have been atmospherics, but when the weather changed and my laptopâs download speed didnât I ruled this out.
I have beeen totally perplexed, and I was at the point of formatting the drive and redoing the OS again.
A few minutes ago I was struck by a thought - could Floorp be causing the issue since it is always running in the background regardless of what Iâm doing on the laptop?
I went through the settings and I came across Workspaces which had recently been added to the browser. Itâs not something I use, and it had a default setting of âonâ, so I turned it off. This required a browser restart, so this I did.
Guess what ⌠my internet speed has been restored to 1Mbp/s+
Has anyone else had problems with a slow internet connection whilst using Floorp or the updated FireDragon?
Is it currently under work. No more changes are pushed unless Floorp updates their own base, which they did with 11.8.0 a few days ago and now we are at 11.8.2.
This can cause a wide load of weird issues! In my mind, anything after a âbad shutdownâ like this can happen, nothing will surprise me.
It could have affected Dolphin or any other app but in your case it seems FD was affected.
Try running it from CLI and see what msg pops-up.
Which precise setting did you turn off?
Also if you want to make sure Workspaces are related, you can it turn back on and see if it drops again and then turn off, see if it speeds up, and on and off and etc⌠a couple of times and if possible after a couple of reboots too, see if itâs repeatable from a clean boot.
If you can reproduce, then Iâd say straight to Floorpâs github for a bug report.
Is this compiled with x86-64-v3?
Iâll leave this one to answer by @dr460nf1r3
Why did you change the name of the package weeks after introducing it?
No, there arenât specific architecture specific compilation flags.
If you mean adding -next, thatâs because we were preparing for the rollout of a new build infra for the Garuda repo while still wanting to be provided with automated builds. Meanwhile we didnât want to replace every personâs Firedragon with the new version when itâs not 100% ready yet. Rest assured itâll be merged into the âregularâ package once our testing phase has been completed.
Completely agree over the years I have seen some truly interesting things after a power outage.
Running from the terminal gets the same popup âFireDragon is already running, but is not responding. To use FireDragon, you must first close the existing FireDragon process, restart your device, or use a different profile.â and no terminal output.
Unfortunately I was premature in my assumption that the problem was solved. When I turned my laptop on this morning I found its internet connection was once again running like an arthritic tortoise.
My OS is going to get another reinstall, and this time I wonât poke around with it when itâs done.
If Firedragon-next not working properly is the worst of it for now other than the system hanging if not used in x amount of time I can live with things as they are till the next Garuda ISO, which hopefully will be with Plasma 6.0.2 skipping some of the pain that usually comes with a new release of Plasma.
EDIT:
A thought, Iâm assuming there is a command I can use to run a clean copy of FD-N. If so can you please post it. Itâs worth a shot. Thanks
