No Man’s Sky : Runs perfectly, can go online after a simple tweak

Ok quick question… what is the simple tweak I have not been able to find it. Would like to have miltiplayer

Hmm many games run well. here are some.
Note: In my personal experience “bottles” is the best for hassle free gaming as lutris and other stuff didnt work comparatively well and manually using wine is not for me >< .Specially for beginners bottles is highly recommended. I even installed FIFA 23 successfully and ran but unfortunately it crashes just before starting any match. :frowning: So i gave up on that.

My Laptop: Intel corei5 8th gen/8GB RAM/Nvidia MX150 2GB.
Below games work like a charm which are my personal favs

Sniper Elite 3
FIFA 18
NFS MW 13
Freedom fighters
Max Payne 1 & 2

Just give bottles a try. Happy gaming.

Currently? World of warcraft. The war within is such a good DLC so far. Other then that Its morrowind I need my comfort games :joy:

I love playing the building game, 0 A.D.
Recently, when I try to start the game, I get the following error message:

(C)ontinue, (S)uppress, (B)reak, Launch (D)ebugger, or (E)xit?

I get the same error message after changing kernels or on other arch-based distros with KDE and on various PCs and laptops.

I’m at a loss. The only thing that helps is an almost forgotten Garuda KDE partition that hasn’t been updated since the beginning of October

Thanks for the links, Kayo!

yes the bug was fixed with Fix segfault with openal-1.24.0 · bb1910ff4c - 0ad - Wildfire Games, distribution maintainers or anyone building a26 from source can cherry-pick that commit to support >=openal-1.24.0. The next release will include the fix.

I play Star Citizen, a game that is still being built thanks to the community that funds it, so it is not dependent on any publisher.
To find out how to install it:
https://github.com/starcitizen-lug/knowledge-base/wiki

My son plays World of Warplanes
My daughter plays Deliver Us Mars

I am playing Path of Exile 2 on steam Ge proton9. Works flawlesly but when connect two gamepads via bluetooth or cable game starts to stutter. Fps wont drop there is something about the connection of devices or steam gamepad support i couldnt figure it out yet what it is.

And also tried Stalker 2 works better than windows.

One of my most loved games, game play, graphic and story wise, is The Witcher 3. A lot of mods on Nexus for this game as well, which makes it even prettier than the original. i bought on Gog Games, for mere pennies, including the two extension. And i run it on Lutris, without any problems, and still get a very good frame rate in Ultra settings with AMD’s FRS 3.1 enabled through a mod, on my RTX4080 Graphic card.

A game, which at first worked fine, i had some problems getting up and running again after a graphic driver update, but which i managed to make playable flawlessly again, is Cyberpunk 2277. i had to use GE-proton 8.29, instead of GE-proton 8.9, with a whole row of extra commands added to get it to work in both DSSL and Ray tracing and still get a good frame rate.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES=‘wbemprox=n;msdmo=n’ ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 gamemoderun VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr RADV_PERFTEST=emulate_rt PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command% dx12 --launcher-skip --intro-skip --skipStartScreen

Cheers.

I’m also playing Witcher 3 on my Garuda distro. It is my first time playing any of the Witcher 3 games. I’m using a PS5 controller, which makes the experience even better because of the Haptic Triggers, but they only work if the controller is connected with a wire to my computer.

I been on warframe a good bit lately, the recent update goes hard and the team has even done steam deck specific fixes in the past. Works flawlessly if you use gamescope.

I been wanting to replay Midnight Suns as well, love that game, and it’s another game that has done steam deck fixes too.

Edit - Minecraft too, I’d call minecraft the most timeless game of my generation. It did unfortunately take me 2+ years on linux before I realized I can play the bedrock version on linux perfectly lol.

Really happy I could get this running

These days I majorly play the Lego simulator for adults, some people also like to refer to it as programming  It’s so feature-rich that possibilities are seemingly endless :star_struck:
