Is there a manufacturer's update for that dated 2016 BIOS?
No i dont think so, i checked my laptop has been discontinued even tho its pretty new
Couple of things to try:
- LTS kernel
- Check lenovo section of arch wiki.
- Determine touchpad driver and search
systemctl
anddmesg
outputs with it to see what goes wrong.
For the touchpad, I think you’ll need synaptics drivers.
Please check this post:
so it does work like after 15 mins of leaving it connected
Sounds like a your system just needs time to sort itself out. You can check if your cpu usage spikes on connection by keeping htop
on when connecting your mouse or using touchpad.
Maybe you could try loading the drivers for your touchpad and mouse in your initramfs.
I found the fix,
Get a new charger seriously it works on unplugging it
A new battery might also be in order.
