What setup did you guys have? The line was busy with dialup, calls couldn’t come through. 
Call waiting was fancy talk back then 
and still kicked you off heh. Honestly though incoming calls were the least of my issues back then. The lines were such crap the noise level would kick you off more than anything else.
That crank yankers video almost made me split my gut.
Those jokes would not fly today. I recently rewatched the Twilight Zone and my lord such a different time.

My first "100% IBM compatible" CPU.
Had to quickly be upgraded to DX2-50 as I needed a math co-processor for AutoCAD for school, so would have probably been better had my folks gone 386 rather than 486 but 
It's not actually in too bad a condition (having straightened the pins up a few years ago, for no apparent reason (and without a socket to assist).

Nice I was going to say when I saw the markings WHERE DAT DX!? I kinda wish I had kept all my old Pen 1,2 AMD K6 CPU's for Christmas tree orniments.
The first comp I bought myself had a cyrix processor.

They were good chips. I had a few. Remember the Socket Super 7? Would take AMD K6, Intel Pen 1 and 2, Cirix and a few others.

Back before tower computers were a thing. I still hate a tower, I always build a horizontal computer with an HTPC style case.

I've got a desktop behind my desk on its side like a tower heh. Not because I want it like a tower, just because it's the only way the DVI cable reaches heh.

I started working on an Athlon 64 retro PC a while back, but Voodoo's are crazy expensive 
Settled on a 750Ti to tide it over as an overkill XP GPU, but still need soundcard and suitable display & case.

I've got 2 Athlon's on my shelves, both 3800's but one is the dual core and the other the single core.

This one's a 3700. Was a great price and tide it over until I have more money than sense and can get the proper FX-52
