Not those FX (which was my last CPU), the original.
I drooled over the FX back in the day, the point of this build is to satisfy childhood fantasy.
Ah for me that would be the dual PPC BeBOX heh. With full front tower mutha fukn BLINKEN LIGHTS!
I actually do wanna build a top end Vista machine, to see what Vista was meant to be like. It got a bad rap because of inappropriate hardware for most people back in the day (not that I’m trying to defend it, it was still a pretty jank OS, but wasn’t quite as bad as its reputation).
It’s like Linux Disk caching today: “It’s using all my RAM, this is dumb” … so, you’d rather have you RAM doing nothing!!!
The thing I like about him the most is that he makes the filters him self.
Also making all kinds of wacky stuff, like the game boy synthesizer, and the wacky personality
Even on fast hardware it was garbage. Sure they pulled the BS with the Vista ready stuff on way weak hardware but that was also because it was a pig. This is why they started trying to leverage flash storage and other things rather than fix the bloat. Visa and ME were both incomplete, buggy trash.
Yeah I also watch his other channel for the Museum. I enjoy his enthusiasm for old tech and just being creative in general. His music isn't bad either Groundhog day, grandma's money, damage is done...killer tunes.
His music is a bit weird, either you like it or you hate it, but it can grow on you.
I like it. I like the rawness of his vocals and his hooks. I've been listening to him for a few years.
Yeah, his voice is awesome, saw a video where he had only recorded his voice, was very interesting.
Heh yeah the one where he was in the white room. Mind you he did a few in that room but same same. Normally I look for perfection in music but he hits things in a way where the lack of polish works. It's what makes it genuine.
The energy he got draws me in, makes me want to watch more
That red headed ADHD enthusiasm
Yeah, it's brilliant haha.
One of my servers just played me a tune via the Piezo (mounting sleeping drives for morning redundant backups) For any of the old coots still in the chat
First PC was the ZX Spectrum 16K .... had lots of games on cassettes. still have 1 or 2 of them hidden somewhere.
Kinda crazy that you still have it. I had a cassette based machine, COLECO ADAM heh.
You could have had a Vic-20!
Also - some of you guys are way too hard on Windows ME - it was the only Windows I ever used that could stay up for a week at a time without problems! Everything it had worked fine, and it did NOT include a ridiculous EULA...
Of course, you needed a 3rd party addon for memory management, or it would die out within hours - but with it it (relatively) rocked. You just reclaimed all available memory whenever you quit a large program - and every so often just in case...
BTW - I went the C64. C128, Amiga route until Linux settled down enough to use...
I just lost all respect for you. sniffle
y0 dawg you must have had magic hardware. I had several friends who ran it and nothing worked. Outside constantly trying to load drivers it would crash and corrupt itself before they would even get their machines set up half the time. To me the only good versions of Windows were XP, 2000, and 7.
98SE was also relatively good.
I wanna say 3.11 too, but eh, DOS was far more useful than Windows.
