Quote from my bug topic.

I think there might have been a bug fix for that. Not getting this error with stock Dragonized panels.

Thats great, since I actually found, I want to have that top panel. It’s the consistency I get with it. I know where the buttons and information is at all times.

It’s possible to install Wayland in XFCE? I would like to have it without reinstalling and keep Xorg installed too.
I know that’s not officially supported, I’m asking about some kind of hack or experimental thing

Just popping by, yay on the 8000 forum users! i was offgrid for a bit and just wanted to say how much I love Garuda! Thank you devs, it means a lot to me to have an OS that is up to date and so lovely to see. I was super nervous about leaving the Debian nest but now I promote Garuda to everyone!

Not sure. You need to check if Wayland is supported on XFCE.

Here it shows that 4.20 is going to support Wayland.

I was on Debian too in last 12 years, Garuda it’s something else

So here is my exp. with GraphenOS with Pixel 7.

The OS runs butter smooth, seems to be identical to stock Pixel, which is great.

The main WIN with GraphenOS is you can install whatever you want. You want Open Source only? Go for it, you don’t need to use Play Store. You want some Google apps? Ok go for it. GOS is an OS for grown ups, you can install whatever you want and decide what premission you give apps. Or you can use some apps for couple of days and then just delete it.

Other highlights for me are.

  • Vanadium browser. It is just such a smooth , stutter free experience, I doubt I’d want any other phone for browsing the web. Infact, I don’t want Apps for news, etc, I just use the browser.

  • Camera. No matter which app you use, it’s a great camera that gets the lighting and HDR right every time.

  • Great display. Very nice OLED, better than the cheaper OLEDs. I watch space documentaries on it, the lights pop out nicely.

  • Like with most phones, I wish that on normal mode (non-battery saving) the battery would last more like 2 days than 1. However, I have been getting qutie good battery life when on the go. Sometimes end up having around 70% battery left with minimal use.

GOS is the way to go.

Just a small question for you guys if someone would like to answer,

If you have to give a piece of advice to your younger self, when you were about to start your college journey after some 1 - 3 months what would you have advised to yourself for college? :slightly_smiling_face:

I’d advise my two year younger self to just do a LOT more research about different fields in Science stream, different courses to get into them and not to think that just because 10th was easy and amazing doesn’t mean 12th will be same!

Trust me, Greta’s concerns are very much justified, whether or not we’re willing to acknowledge it.
