Off Topic Chit Chat - (Silliness factor 5)

Not everyone who lives in Russia has to be a warmonger, not everyone who lives in Germany has no sense of humor or eats sauerkraut.
By the way, we are a technical forum and leave politics and religion etc. out of it.

It is true that some Americans are not concerned about the environment, just as there are people in every country in the entire world who do not care about the environment.

This is not indicative of all persons of course, and nationality does not necessarily provide any insight into what a person is concerned or not concerned about. It is also important to appreciate that corporations are not people.

There are a great number of Americans who are hyper-concerned about the environment, in the way a person trapped in a burning room may be more concerned with the placement of the extinguishers than a person who is merely looking on from outdoors.

As an American who used to work for and beside German nationals, Iā€™ve found them to have a rich but very fine-tuned sense of humor. Or a very bawdy one, you choose.

Itā€™s the Swiss who have no sense of humor. None.

@AgainstTh3Syst3m it is not indicative of me. Iā€™m old and, barring a local natural disaster will be dead long before Gaia. Itā€™s my daughter, my 5 grandsons, and my great grandson Iā€™m scared for.

I am convinced there can be solutions, but not as long as there are those who continue to waste public resources for personal gain. And that includes bitmining.

I leave my car running and double bag groceries in plastic to help push things over the edge. The world will be such a great place again someday, and weā€™re not doing anything that will harm earth more than she can handle. Humans will rightfully be gone sooner than later. Likely from ourselves, possibly from natural earth disasters. I have very little hope for the future.

So, queue up the Honkler. HONK HONK. Clowns everywhere in a sea of clowns.

Sooner or later the world will be swallowed up by the sun and completely vaporized in the blink of an eye, so I suppose there isnā€™t a lot of sense in getting overly worked up over a few plastic bags if you are a big-picture kind of personā€¦

Still, who can afford to leave their car running with the price of gasoline?! :money_with_wings:

Donā€™t temp me with a good time.

I canā€™t afford all the taxes and non-sense I have to pay for either. Itā€™s a worthy investment into our future.

Flip side, fuel has gone down a little, but I did get a truck, so Iā€™m more than making up for the savings.

At this point I would like to dispel a prejudice: Not every German city whose name has ā€œBadā€ in front of it is a bad city!

Ummm, Ummm  Thank God you are not a scientist :joy:, people might party till the sun decides to strike

Are you under the mistaken impression that people actually listen to scientists? Now that is funny! :joy: :sob:

Why are you talking about Russia when Iā€™m answering to an american? Itā€™s a fetish?
I jusk asked a question and that son of an american started talking nonsense, if he doesnā€™t want to answer / help, let him be quiet, I donā€™t care about his ideals for anything, when heā€™s hit by a tornado itā€™ll be too late.
WTF itā€™s a sauerkraut?? I spent holidays in Stuttgart and never heard that before.
BTW Iā€™m anarchist and atheist, so I donā€™t talk politics or religion

Itā€™s perfectly fine to be an anarchist, but letā€™s all just try to be civil to each other on this thread. I started this thread to have a light hearted place for community members to socialize, not to create antagonism with others.

why is it special? People do adore the IBM model M and I see where theyā€™re coming from, purely off the sound

My answer was moved to there, but I will do that anyway.
Itā€™s the minimum I can do after all your work doing Garuda.

More the tactile feel than the sound.

And being weighty and nearly indestructible, they could inflict near-fatale injuries during office conflicts.
