Having issue while shutting down the system

Sometimes after a long continuous session when i try to shutdown my system, it just stuck i can’t do anything other than hard poweroff by holding the power button. Not even Magic Sys Rq works when this happens. I don’t know much about this kind on errors so i can’t explain the issue in detail but I have attached some images if it can help.
Just to cover all areas I have tried to shutdown from the KDE start menu, terminal, from the locked screen and tty.
I have enlisted images when this error occurs.

Well is there way to prevent/circumvent this on system with amd+nvidia specs? Hard shutdown frequently will affect my ssd

Use the terminal

reboot
or
shutdown -h now

similar thing happens terminal gets stuck.

It work for me with wayland, but you can try if X11 works.
Change it on log in screen

I think i should mention that this issue has been persisting for atleast a month ( Since i installed garuda ) , Altho the frequency wasnt as high. In general , the frequency of such freezes is not constant .

Yes the frequency is not constant. I have tried X11 and Wayland the issue is persistent on both the display servers. Currently i am using Wayland.

I had a similar issue (not 100% same). It was caused by Nvidia drivers.
You can read my thread on it if you want to further diagnose:

Were you able to fix it?

After switching to Nvidia-Open I no longer had the shutdown/logout problem. HOWEVER, when using external monitor (I am on laptop) that is directly connected to dGPU, I had low fps on wayland, so I had to use X11. Using integrated screen and connecting external monitor to the iGPU with wayland was normal.

I will try the same and report if it worked , thanks

doesn’t that break the garuda-nvidia-config?

It does. It breaks two, Nvidia-Garuda-config and Nvidia-Garuda-Prime-config.
It’s mentioned in the thread.

How was the gaming or heavy gpu task experience after switching?

The only difference was that when I connected my dGPU to external monitor directly, there was some lag and lower refresh rate/fps. But switching to x11 solved it.

since 20th Jun suffered any crash?

With nvidia-open-dkms? No.
I briefly switched to nvidia-dkms as someone suggested that since the latest update, they are no longer facing the crash. But it seems like the problem I faced with nvidia-dkms is still there (crash), so I switched back to nvidia-open-dkms

i installed nvidia-open few days back. switchable graphics mode was working fine on both X11 and Wayland tested games too worked well but when i switched to discrete graphics, on logging in with wayland there was just black screen with just mouse pointer and and for the X11 everything looks fine but can’t play any games, it borks on startup.
