Garuda Linux won't boot after update

Hello.

I'm a fairly new Garuda linux user (2 months old) and I like it. I have used and tried Mandrake, Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora... over the last years and I can say that a lot of progress was done to ease the use of Linux distrib. Because I really don't like Win11 (I'm using it at work and it's a pain for a lot of reasons), I want to make the switch to Linux one good time and that's why I'm here

Anyway, I was very happy with Garuda Linux until the update last Sunday then now everytime my system is up to date, it gets stuck on:
"Booting 'Garuda Linux'
Loading Linux linux-zen ...
Loading initial ramdisk ..."

I discovered the snapshot tools, I tried a few times to go back, make updates one by one and then same issue again. Because I'm used to reinstalling OS on Windows, I thought that doing it will fix the issue.... that was a mistake, I have the same stuck issue.

This is my output of:

I tried to follow this topic:
https://forum.garudalinux.org/t/help-garuda-fails-to-boot-after-todays-update/29322/21

I tried this part as well but I get this error on the way :
╰─λ sudo garuda-chroot /mnt/broken/@/
sudo: garuda-chroot: command not found

https://forum.garudalinux.org/t/how-to-chroot-garuda-linux/4004

Also after my reinstallation, being stuck, reusing snapshots, I have a new symptom on a few apps now:
For Nvidia-server for example => You are not authorized to execute this file.

Can you help me to fix my installation ? I like Garuda linux and I want to keep using it

Hi @Wad, welcome. :slightly_smiling_face:

You may be affected by a recent bug in plymouth-git, which many users have reported here in the forum over the past few days. Check out this recent thread for example:

If this is your issue, either of those interventions (removing the splash kernel parameter, or switching from plymouth-git to plymouth) should get you back into your system.

this is why i always check the forums before updating >.>

thank you!
i'ma wait a bit to see if the git version gets a fix as i don't like messing with stuff if i don't have to =-)

helpful, thank you

Thank you! I was starting to pull hairs because I couldn't figure out what was wrong.

Thank you @BluishHumility I found the solution removing the "splash" parameter to be the one working fine for me. My system is working again
I guess I will do like @Michael_joseph for the next system updates, just to be sure ^^
