Expanding my /run/user/1001

Hello everyone!
So, I’ve been face this sort of issue:

For a while now. I think they were on to something over in this other post

Mostly when they get to the conclusion that the /run/user/1000 doesn’t have enough space for whatever reason. The thing is, I want to expand my folder, but it’s not at the 1000, it’s at the 1001, my regular user that doesn’t have sudo privileges.
If I try to expand it using my sudo user, it just says that the path doesn’t exist, if I try using my regular user it says I need sudo, so I’m basically stuck xD

Oh, btw, I was using the solution from the post from erwin:

mount -o remount,size=3G,noexec,nosuid,nodev,noatime /run/user/1000

Can anyone shed a light here to me? How do I expand my 1001? Or maybe if you have another solution for the “no space left on device” situation… I’m open to suggestions uwu

Please try this Profile-sync-daemon - ArchWiki

It should effect all users. /run/user/xxxx is created at login.

The command you wrote above will only be temporary. You should be able to test with it, if you use a terminal (ie alt+strg+f2 and login as sudo user).

But the permanent solution is to edit the logind.conf file.

Oh, I see. I actually got to that page while searching, but I don't speak Linux very well xD But thanks for pointing it out explicitly for me. The thing is

Before I do something DUMB

I only have 4gb of ram, if I put say 50% there, will it be exclusive to such temp or it's only gonna be permited to go as high on the ram memory, but it won't be used if it's not used?

How high would you recommend me going? xD

As said in that page, that is the maximum permitted. Only actually used data will occupy memory.
I’d try see if 25% is enough, just to keep the limit as low as possible, in case the temp filesystem gets filled for some reason, so it can’t waste too much ram.

By default, 10% of physical memory is used but one can increase it safely. Remember that tmpfs only consumes what is actually used; the number specified here is just a maximum allowed.
