My work-around is to add brave-bin to Not updatable packages list

Partial upgrades are never a workaround and it will end up just breaking things, the issue is a known issue that we’re working on.

Thanks! I just got this error msg. I will wait to upgrade until fixed.

You are right.
garuda-updated failed due to the fail of brave-bin updated.
And my goal was to let garuda-update make its works. If brave-bin has been not updated is not a big problem.

I was just coming on here to look to see if anyone else was having issues updating brave-bin on the chaotic-AUR, and it seems I am not alone. I just uninstalled it from there and just installed the AUR one for now until the issue is fixed.

same. chaotic has been completely wiped off my repo list. Yo Nico, its broke n stuff. Need a friggn sig breh , although its hard to find a drop in replacement for chaotic lol

I thought these suggestions provided at GitHub would be helpful for chaotic-aur maintainers.

Could you please add:

  1. waydroid-script-git
  2. python-inquirerpy
  3. python-pfzy

Hi!
The devs could remove anbox from Garuda Gamer's Emulators section and add waydroid, with waydroid-script-git as its dependency.

One suggestion:
Do we need the 'Games' section? We don't have icons for the games, and it all looks quite an unattractive interface to install games.

Just don't open the page if you don't like it visually.
I like the teal on blue

Don't you think you would have to create a meta package to pull in required packages to switch from xorg to wayland as well? for KDE it's pretty easy you just need plasma-wayland-session not sure about others.

For gnome, this is how we do it:

Sway runs on Wayland only.

I suppose KDE, Gnome and Sway are the only DEs with Wayland sessions. For the rest of the DEs, you would have to use Weston.

So we will have to create separate cases for different DEs in the meta package.

Hello there!

There’s a major, desktop-breaking bug in the Plasma 6 packages where if I install Plasma 6 with the kde-git-meta metapackage and start Plasma with SDDM, it throws me back to the login screen.

Manually starting Plasma revealed to me that the startup program/script is expecting KDE to use the older Qt5 libraries (eg. the error message:

startplasma-x11: error while loading shared libraries: libKF5GuiAddons.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

when it should use libKF6GuiAddons.so.6 and other Qt6 libraries instead).

I suspect it’s a packaging issue because on KDE neon Unstable and Fedora Rawhide, Plasma 6 works well.

Is it a realistic request to switch those dependencies to Qt6 and do a packaging fix for the Plasma 6 packages?

Our KDE git maintainers are aware of this. Maybe @alexjp can provide some insight on the current status :eyes:

Thanks. Hopefully by tagging them, they’ll answer and tell the full context (not sure if that’s the case, I’m quite new here, even if I use the Chaotic-AUR repos on vanilla Arch daily).

Could you please add these to the chaotic-aur?

I even mentioned in my Waydroid guide that these are available in the chaotic-aur, expecting that it would be added sooner .

I'll be having the time tomorrow, will update you once done.

Edit: its done @Austin !
