I'm using a brand new pc, I wanted to dual boot Windows and Garuda. These are the steps I took
1- I Downloaded Black Arch Garuda Linux
2 - I created a 90Gb partition
3 - I Created bootable USB with Etcher
4 - I Booted with USB
5 - I installed Garuda Linux ( I tried both driver options )
6 - I disabled secure boot
When I try to boot using the installed Garuda Linux I get a loading screen that never ends.
My specs are Hp15 with SSD drive CPU intel i5 11th gen and GPU Intel Iris Xe
Thanks
Hello @shototodoroki ,
welcome aboard.
How long did you wait for booting?
What do you mean with:
Please discribe, what exactly happens.
Could you please post us the output of
inxi -Fxxxza
and
lsblk -f
thx.
Thanks for your response
I actually waited like 20 mins at least
Okay I'll check the output of those out and I'll keep you updated
inxi -Fxxxza

Hi.
I'm absolutely not an expert, just searching in the forum, maybe you could try to change SATA mode to AHCI in your BIOS, and maybe also disable VMD. This if you don't need to use RAID, of course.
I don’t have that option in my bios Reddit
I found my answer here
Perfect!
We had that solution also in our forum, I think:
I couldn’t find any answer in that post.
What was it?
Reddit is not really user friendly imo, at least via web.
You should click on "View entire discussion" then "Continue this thread".
Solution was:
If it's the same issue than me, you need to regenerate the mkinit file in chroot environment with the vmd modules being forced.
To do that, you chroot to your garunda installation, add vmd to the module list in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf: like: MODULES="crc32c-intel vmd"
Then regenerate the mkinit file.
