Add garuda hyprland to an existing dr460nized installation

Hi there,

I have an existing garuda installation on the dr460nized edition.
I would have loved to experiment with hyprland on it alongside plasma, keeping both installed, and being able to chose one or the other on sddm at login.

Installing hyprland alone actually allows me to do that, but i would’ve liked to have the out-of-the-box garuda config for hyprland instead of starting from scratch.

I tried installing the package garuda-hyprland-settings but pacman says its conflicting with dr460nized…

Is there any way of doing that ?
Thanks.

Better post your “Garuda-inxi”. If you search the forums you will see I posted the exact question almost and the responses are there. I am on my phone at the moment or I would point you to the post.

I didn’t find your question, this was about as close as I could find

Just edit you first post.

Use multi-dualboot.

If you’re using BTRFS, try this:

This is how I have Qtile and Hyprland on the one partition, and they share files that are in the specified share folder

well forcefully replacing garuda-dragonized settings and adding garuda-hyprland setting would mostly lead to a broken system, you have two options

  1. Do dual booting :
If you want to keep your dragonized setup then you can side by side install garuda hyprland
  2. Just erase and fresh install :
If you just want to have a single standalone system on PC then back up your necessary data and just select erase the disk in calamares installation session.

Happy Garudaing and …
