I just checked on firedragon and The problem still persists

I have the exact same problem, not just with youtube videos but with other audio stuff (like in duolingo, any "dings" on websites, etc)

Is autoplay enabled in your browser?

I have had also problems with sound not working with several applications. Also, after touching the sound volume widget sound worked fine with these applications.

I found out that the problem is somehow related to JamesDSP. When quitting JamesDSP sound works fine.

same problem facing in firefox, firedragon as well as opera … maybe it will be same for chrome (but i don’t use it)…

it says…" if your playback couldn’t start shortly, try restarting your device"

it happens after an update , so,
Maybe … after another updates it will be fixed
.
btw i experienced it before in garuda kde (even on manjaro kde)… i think … this is just an update problem kde only…

Not only video doesn't play, but it also freezes the browser making it unresponsive for like 10-20 seconds.

Thanks for the answer, it fixed my issue with youtube and itturns out JamesDSP was also causing many applications to just freeze
