Update, I disconected the USB mouse and tried a USB/Bluetooth mouse and that works fine (different (front instead of back) USB port).. But my wired mouse behaves the same regardless of which port its connected in...

Those screenshots you are posting are difficult to read. If you can paste logs from the terminal as normal text instead of screenshotting whatever that GUI program is, that would be way better.

I hate to say so, but it sounds like something is wrong with the mouse. Is it possible it has been damaged?

What kind of mouse is it?

My bad, This is the X.org log output that might help.

It just suddenly started to get stuck wile using the computer, its a USB cable mouse, brand "Arrogant Bastard" ($40). Well everything wears out so its possible...

Gonna get another one to test.

Have you tried the wired mouse on a different computer? It is possible the wire for the mouse is bad or even a connection in the mouse. I guess there could be a USB port issue but seems less likely. I am not an expert in anything just what I would consider if I were in your situation.

Your port is going into power-saving mode. First, check your BIOS settings. Then, try adding this two-line “fix” to a file named i915.conf and insert the file in /etc/modprobe.d, reboot and see if that helps.

options i915 enable_guc=2
options i915 enable_fbc=1

Nope, that didnt make any difference.. For some reason I cant update, gonna have to figure that out..

That’s a real biggie. It may be at the heart of this problem, who knows? Use the forum Search function to help you solve that first, and if you still cannot update, start a new help request in the appropriate subforum.

That sounds like the best avenue to find out what is going on. What changed afterwards?
I first thought “kernel”, but last -zen update was on 2022-12-02.
Some USB stuff maybe? I see libusb-compat updated on 2022-12-10.

Downgrading packages is not generally a nice thing to do to an Arch system, but try installing the previous libusb-compat 0.1.7-1 version and see if it works again.

Check in your /var/log/pacman.log. It gets huge pretty fast, use grep:

grep -E '2022-12-.*(libusb-compat|lirc|input-devices-support)' /var/log/pacman.log

Downgrade instructions: Downgrading packages - ArchWiki

While at it, post output of lsusb.
It should say something like 04d9:a081 Holtek Semiconductor, Inc.

I think the output of xinput list and sudo libinput list-devices may also be useful.

Forum edit bug hits again, I can edit no more.
Scrap the grep line above, use
grep -E '2022-12-.*libusb-compat' /var/log/pacman.log

Solved update issue thanks to another thread.
I think youre on to something here, my mouse issue started while finalizing a fresh install...

grep -E '2022-12-.*libusb-compat' /var/log/pacman.log

sudo grep -E '2022-12-.*libusb-compat' /var/log/pacman.log

As far as I can tell the problem only occurs with my mouse

Yep, seen that.

Darn, can’t find anything about it…

Did the libusb-compat downgrade work?

I trying to figure out how to do it… Linux takes a lot of learning

╭─y4ku@y4kuZ44n in ~ as 🧙 took 53ms
[🔴] × sudo pacman -Q libusb-compat 0.1.7-1
[sudo] password for y4ku:
libusb-compat 0.1.8-1
error: package '0.1.7-1' was not found```
cd /var/cache/pacman/pkg/
ls libusb-compat-0.1.7-1*.zst # make sure it's there
sudo pacman -U libusb-compat-0.1.7-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

if the ls shows nothing, the old package has already been cleaned from the cache and must be downloaded from the Arch packages archive:

sudo pacman -U https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/l/libusb-compat/libusb-compat-0.1.7-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

Thank you! But my issue remains... At this point im starting to believe it is the mouse itself...

I forgot to say: reboot afterwards (and do not upgrade).
