I'm not a developer, but I guess anbox-git needs a rebuild (and/or some kind of adjustment).
I see it's trying to download as dependency

libcpufeatures-git-0.7.0+10.r279.d20220414.7fe96b1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

but in the chaotic repo I seem to see a newer version:

libcpufeatures-git-0.7.0+12.r281.d20220427.0bf4ea0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

In-fact I see the last build failed here:
https://builds.garudalinux.org/repos/chaotic-aur/logs/anbox-git.log
Am I right @dr460nf1r3 ?

Uhm, the build itself was successful (the same pkgver exists already), to me it looks like the database might be outdated rather than an actual Anbox bug :eyes:
Can you try installing the package manually, to force refreshing it?

sudo pacman -Syu anbox-support
1 Like

Full output is below.
Anbox now appears in the application menu,
however nothing happens after it's clicked.

╰─λ sudo pacman -Syu anbox-support

Did you reboot?
Maybe you need to give a look at the Arch wiki here:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Anbox
And this (long!) thread:

Most of the things you won’t have to do because you already have it installed, however there are a few configurations to do, services to enable, etc…

Anbox-support pretty much contains all of it. @vmiimu did you reboot after completing the installation? This is required for some configs.

Yes, I have rebooted.
But still can't launch Anbox

Any other suggestions I can try?

anything else I could try?

To find out why it failed:

systemctl status anbox-container-manager

Thanks,
output is below

I also tried this but no dice

sudo systemctl enable --now anbox-container-manager.service

systemctl status anbox-container-manager

I think this should be notified to the anbox-git maintainer in the AUR (or a rebuid on our side is enough here?).
protobuf 3.20.1-1 (dependency of anbox-git) now (since 2022-04-25) provides

I pushed an update, so @vmiimu you could try a complete system update and reboot to try again :eyes:

Apologies I know I'm not the original thread creator but I couldn't get Anbox working either. I just did a system update and works perfectly now. Thank you dr460nf1r3

Thanks @dr460nf1r3
I ran garuda-update then rebooted before launching Anbox
This time it launched!
However, it takes a little while to come up after "Starting..."
Then I can briefly interact with it before it shuts down and disappears on it's own.
I'm able to relaunch it with the same behavior
I tried launching the default calculator and that worked
However, I was unable to launch a Pandora APK I installed (via adb)
Any suggestions?
