Unable to Boot Latest Garuda Linux ISO (250308 Broadwing) from USB (Black Screen)

Today, I downloaded the latest Garuda Linux ISO and wrote it to a USB drive using both Etcher and Rufus. However, when I try to boot from the USB, the screen goes black after selecting the USB device, and the system fails to boot.

I have tested both the Hyprland and Mokka editions, and they all have the same issue. On the same computer, previous versions of the Garuda Linux ISO booted normally, including the developer builds from February, which worked fine. However, the developer builds released after March no longer boot, including todayā€™s stable release.

Is there any known issue with the latest ISO, or are there any workarounds I could try? Since the system goes black immediately upon boot, I am unable to provide detailed information.

Use ventoy, than use grub2, not normal boot. For me the keybord settings to german did not work so check for wifi connection if you use the correct password  it use us keyboard layout.

Got the same exact problem, but didnā€™t manage to boot from grub. Never done it before so I may do it wrong. I do :

set root=(cd0,msdos2) (thatā€™s my USB stick location)
chainloader /efi/boot/bootx64.efi
boot

But it ends with the same black screen as booting directly from the USB. Itā€™s really frustrating, could you tell me what Iā€™m doing wrong please ?

Until now, I know the only way to fix this problem with ventoy.net.

You mean I have to create the USB drive with Ventoy before using Grub ? Iā€™ve tried using ISO Image Writer and dd. Iā€™ll give it a try. Do my grub commands seem OK to you ?

Yes, click on the ISO, next page use grub2, setting page open, follow the solution part

Well, it boots, but got a fatal error corrupted files message during loading (something like that, itā€™s very quick), then the computer shuts off. Where can I find a sha sum to check my file please ?

Will be adding a link on the website soon.

The ISO checks itself before booting, so yes, that might indeed be broken.

Got into the new ISO by using the suggestion posted, figured Iā€™d try it before I installed the updates. However, none of my games will load with the new gaming version. BG3, FO3, FONV, FO4, MH:W.

Iā€™ll keep my current install, but am wondering if the new updates will cause my games to not work. I really donā€™t want to take the chance at this point unless I know for sure.

Finally worked, thank you !

The problem I had was while Dolphin (or even the terminal) was saying it has finished to copy the ISO to the USB drive, it wasnā€™t true and the drive didnā€™t want to unmount. Didnā€™t understant that at 1st so made a brutal reboot which corrupted the image. Everythingā€™s OK now !

Juste a note : Rani gave a blanked display when running on the live disk, but it didnā€™t prevent me from installing Garuda after.

Just as another data point, I also get a blank Rani that opens automatically on the live ISO, but the installer runs fine.
