Thunderbird won't open links with the system default browser

Hello guys! Sorry to bother with yet another problem. I have been searching how to make thunderbird open to open links with my default browser(google chrome). The answer that I found was to delete mimeTypes.rdf from profile.(linux - Clicking a link in Thunderbird opens Firefox instead of the default browser - Super User)

Is there another solution? If not, where can I find this mimeTypes(this is actually what I was struggling with, but I was hoping for a more humane way to solve this problem)?

Try .profile

> /home/andre/.profile” is not a directory

This is the message I get. I do not have a .profile folder in $HOME.
