It works until it's actually starting the game, so it goes through Rockstar Games Launcher

Yep, i actually had to run it once with wine to get DirectX installed, but it works now. Kinda laggy, probably the nvidia driver

Hi! I am sorry, I am still have not time to make benchmarks. I playing gta 5 often, but a little. It works more stable, then before. After third day there is no freezes in game, and I am fully enjoying gta 5 on Garuda Linux.

I used lutris 6.0 it worked
But may be the keyboard is not working? Just Checking, cause when I created this post, Lutris wine didn't support keyboard inputs in GTA 5
That can be, i haven’t checked the keyboard, i would use proton experimental but it doesn’t work at all

Now if GTA is working fine with Lutris Wine, and the keyboard issue has been fixed. Then you can continue using it.
Did you try running with stock wine? First do that atleast once, and then again try with stable or experimental version with proton. It might..... work
Not trying to necrobump here, but most recently (March 2022) I found that this would only work with everything the post said but with Proton 7.0
I think the issue is with wine try proton
