System upgrade prevented by spice-vdagent

Hello folks. It’s the first time ever IIRC that I’ve not been able to update on Garuda. Here’s the upd terminal output:

A web search found posts about the vdagent but not specifically this issue. Any thoughts on a fix for this issue? I suppose there’s uninstalling the VM software but if there’s a cleaner option I’ll try that.

Heya, thanks for your report and sorry for the trouble. The issue should be fixed in garuda-hardware-profile-vm 1.1.2-2.

Have a good day!

No problem.
I was going to say thanks to the other person (Filo?) for the very useful guide which describes how to solve the problem. I figured it was related a recent version of the garuda-hardware-profile-vm. I simply ended up making a .backup of the offending file and then the update worked.

I removed the instructions because the instructions that were sent are not recommended for this particular kind of conflict.

This type of issue has to be fixed at the source instead of applying any homemade bandaids that will inevitably come back to haunt you.

In this particular case, since the issue is now resolved at our end as well, you should face no further issues.

OK, fair enough. Thanks for your post and your work on Garuda! :ok_hand:
