Suggestions for setting up Xfce Garuda

Very, very nice, thank you very much for the new video.
I couldn’t find the link here and came across it via the old one on YT.

Here again for all those who don’t want to search long …

Well done, I think you can also change the background color (here white) of the number display for the gcalculator.

Is it still as stable as the original version?

The video is actually at the end of the guide at the top of this thread [post #1]. When I made the above post I simply copied the image from the first post to show the drop down terminal.

I quite like the white background of Galculator, if everything was black it would be a bit boring.

With regard to stability, it is rock solid. When I previously used Gnome I had a couple of major issues crop up that required quite a bit of time and effort to sort out. I haven’t had a single issue with Xfce regardless of how I’ve modified it. The updated slimmed down version is also more frugal with battery usage than its predecessor.

Here you are, trying to make XFCE look as modern as possible
Meanwhile here I am:

WARNING: Light theme ahead!

Why? because I simply love the UI design from that time, even though I wasn’t even born then. I just love the physical feel the UI has!

I actually never thought of this, so I’ve changed the colours and changed the keyboard font and made it bigger.

If people like it I’ll add how its done to the guide.

[Edit: the more I’ve looked at the changes the more I like them. I’ll add this update to the addendum]

Since I was using a dark theme I tried using a light wallpaper along with a dark workspace switcher at the bottom of the screen. Things came out a lot better than I expected:

I have to admit, I was looking for a good screen recorder to replace ShareX and by far this blows ShareX out of the water. I can actually record my own voice from my microphone into the video this time around.
