Snapper asking for authentication every time I login

Hi,

I’ve very recently been having issues with snapper asking for authentication every single time I login to Garuda and it’s getting pretty annoying. I’m running the GNOME version.

I’ve had a search on the forum and found similar issues, here, and here.

I’d tried both the below, however none of the suggestions have worked in resolving the problem. If anyone has other suggestions on what I can try to resolve this problem it would be appreciated, cheers.

Hi there, welcome to the forum.
Do you have snapper boot enabled flagged in your snapper settings in btrfs-assistant?
That would create a snapshot at every boot (although I don’t think that should ask for a password).

Hi, thanks @filo. The only thing checked in the btrfs-assistant is the Snapper Cleanup Enabled option.

I’m afraid I cannot help much here, since I’m not a Gnome user.
My only idea is that this could be related to gnome-keyring.
Maybe you know better how it works.

No prob. Thanks for your time and suggestions though. It’s odd, I also have GNOME Garuda on my laptop and don’t have this issue. I have a completely different one on the laptop that started recently also. I still need to open a post and as about. :slight_smile:
