It would be nice just to know which order of operations I should take at this point, as I’ve already spent a couple days trying to get this working.

If you can describe the efforts you have taken so far that have not worked, including an explanation of what happened, that would be useful for determining how you should proceed.

Turned it back on and updated it today, doesn't offer non-free proprietary drivers anymore. System update said it removed splash from grub for stability. I assume that was a fix for these problems everyone is having. What is the manual way to install the proprietary drivers for a GTX 750, please do not refer to a wiki tutorial, already been in there getting more confused than anything else.
