Probably another newb Q

Hello Garuda users.

OK, the mandatory garuda-inxi thing is at the bottom of this, I hope.

I’ve done my searches, and I’ve not come up with anything helpful, so…

I’m, using Garuda KDE Dragonized. Love the theming of course. Now I fire up something like vlc, or perhaps qBitorrent or whatever. They have no window decorations, so no ‘Close’ button. You have to hit the menu then ‘Quit’ or ‘Exit’.

I posted one recently about the ‘System Settings’ app which is worse, as it has window decorations, but disables the ‘Close’ button. Luckily a kind person gave me a two-key workaround for that (but still not a true fix), but I would never have known if I hadn’t asked.

Anyway, any constructive feedback welcomed!

G’night
K

I think in this case a screenshot would be helpful to diagnose the issue.

VLC UI option here:

check other apps for similar settings.

check Latte dock window buttons configuration

also check your kde settings. Kde allows you to completely remove all window decorations. Maybe you did that by accident?

I’ve had similar issues with KDE before, and what worked for me was to change my display scaling, fire up the application, and it would be displayed with window decoration, close button, normal.
After, resize the application window, if desired, then reset the display scaling to whatever value it was.
For me, in the past, this has done the trick. Give that a try.

You could try ctrl + q for exitting, killing app, working allmost on all apps
