I am very interested in using Garuda Linux but I have no idea how to install optimus manager to switch between my Intel and Nvidia GPUs. Any help would be appericated
sudo pacman -S optimus-manager optimus-manager-qt to install it
You mean Info, since you have not installed.
You can choose one of the available optimus configurations provided by Garuda Hardware Manager, after installation.
One of them is using optimus-manager, among others.
Yes, but you advise a manual installation.
Garuda uses mhwd
which takes care of more than installing a package.
Thank you for all your help. I got everthing setup and going
Since we keep some statistics in house, would you mind telling us how did you setup everything?
Sure I just let the installer install my drivers automatically and just
sudo pacman -S optimus-manager optimus-manager-qt
Then added optimus-manger-qt to autostart.
set optimus manager to bbswitch and installed bbswitch-dkms rebooted and everything ran great.
This has already applied a compatible driver setup.
You should check (and be aware of) what you have installed.
mhwd --pci -li
Also check the rest of your options
mhwd --pci -l
