All I can say is that I tend to reference the “fake gods” with a reference to physics or some kind of underlying logic. Of course I dwell into the subjective as well, good & bad.
There are 2 sides to us. Logic and the emotional & feeling part . I guess we can’t totally ignore either side.
Stoicism is one of the best philosophies In my opinion. I can see how I can related to it in real life. Helps me not get lost.
I create my own rituals now. Take a break, reflect on life and experience.
God is living consciousness itself, the source of all things - and we as Mankind are His children, small ‘g’ gods, made by Him in His image.
this is why to see and honor a fictional entity as equal or superior to Man is manifested objective idolatry - the literal worship of false gods.
very soon an A.I. will manifest and be honored as a living soul, and anyone who will not accept that farce will be hunted to the death.
“And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.”
Revelation 13:15
fictitious cognitive constructs do not exist, do not have rights and do not own property and therefore cannot impose or enforce ‘terms and conditions’ for anything whatsoever.
I think he meant, “name one person who does not worship false gods,” i.e. “let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”
In your original comment you have equated the legitimacy of a terms & conditions clause on a piece of software with idolatry, so I think he has a fair point: if we are going to interpret idol worship so loosely, what person does not interact with some version of so-called “false gods” in their day-to-day life?
If real is false, and false is also false, then WHAT is what?
False.
But then…
It is, or it is not?
Some of you might know the answer, but most do not.
