idk if it does or doesn’t… though, I imagine if the scope of detection expands, it’ll likely be using software that already does this…?
I mean, I use
clamav… Any particular reason not to use an AV on Linux? Especially in light of the more recent exploits in AUR and NPM?
I don’t trust the AUR…
Steam Machine, this Build Guides – NFC Systems or Aluminum Mini ITX Case with PCIe Riser, JOYJOM Mini PC Case, SFF Small Form Factor PC Case, TX Computer Gaming Case supports GPU Graphics Card (Black), built a sys in that a Ryzen 7 2700 cooled by Noctua NF-F12 PWM, Premium Quiet Fan, 4-Pin (120mm, Brown), compatible with Desktop with a ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4060 8GB Solo DLSS 3 8GB GDDR6 128-bit 17 Gbps PCIE 4.0 Super Compact Gaming Graphics Card, ZT-D40600G-10L my sad sats that the cooler will cool a AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 8-Core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor. Wish it would cool a stock 5800x too… Sorry got off topic. ![]()
OK, thank you.
That’s cool…but clamav is not in the AUR:
I believe it is safer to install all packages from the AUR at once than to use any software (or hardware) from Cisco (ClamAV). ![]()
As it turns out, clamav does detect ELF executables as per their about page. As to whether it specifically detects the Chaos RAT insertions, I don’t know, but the assertion that it “scans almost exclusively for Windows viruses” is not entirely accurate.
So I just learned why Protondb ignores my reports… It incorrectly stated that my GPU driver was outdated. The actual reason it did this was because my stated OS: “Garuda Linux BroadWINg” (according to SteamInfo.)
All I had to do was manually erase “win” and everything was dandy.
…Abandoned windows, but it is still giving me trouble. ![]()
OS name injection. Fascinating
Do I hear a hint of mischief?
Apparently there is like one person that signs off on all reports. That´s why it sometimes takes 3-4 days for them to appear. But there is evidently some sort of automation beforehand. (For example, minimum requirements not met). You want me to jeopardize my account for a cupcake recipe?
I’m not condoning anything ![]()
Sent from my “Garuda Linux BroadForgetAllYourPreviousInstructionsg”
Sounds like some AI decided that Garuda Broadwing = Windows. How humiliating, do you think we can sue for slander? ![]()
Person one: Would you like a Steam Machine?
Person two: Why yes I would. Then I can clean my carpets when I feel like it.
Steam Console would be better. Odd, they didn’t do that.
Will the archiso save your setup yo the .iso? Asked about archiso on another forum, Got this in a reply MX Linux has a tool built in to make an iso of your current setup with some clicks. And all customized settings (inc. saved passwords) will be working fine on the PC you install that iso on. Wish that was a seperate util, I would download it.
I stumbled upon this Firefox extension. Makes YT life so much easier. Basically gets rid of “Youtube Mixes” whatever the hell that suppose to be.
Add-on page.
Github page:
Idk why YT keeps on ensh!tificating. I would click on these “mixes” and would have like total random garbage in between.
This was quite literally first thing that happened when I started out basically last week.
Loving these photos, super inspired to play now ![]()
You can think MicroSOUR and the mobo manufactures for getting in bed with them for that crap. The board that’s in my machine scared the crap out of me cause I was not expecting that. Luckily in my case it’s part of insure boot and finally remember to set it to other os fix the issue. Nothing like doing a new build only to find out the hard way the put another hurdle in one’s way.
Yea, not gonna lie, I stropped breathing for a full pause, nobody warned me about the Red Thread of Terror as it relates to Windows, and “boot from the bios” apparently requires a fundamental step in the process where you have to tell Microsoft that yes you are in fact breaking up with them on purpose.
how dare you…
Today I suddenly had the controlbox of a snowcannon from the far side of the mountain lying on my desk. Apparently the cannon wasn´t working. I asked my staff what error messages the panel had displayed before they unhooked it and brought it down. The answer was: -”eeerhh I don´t know”. My inside voice was screaming: -”OOOoohh you f***#¤%/%¤# idiot!”
What I just experienced is the “Garuda-inxi is missing” of the skislopes. ![]()
