Yeah I have no clue tbh. I’m following the development blog pretty close and sounds like they’re down to 20 must-fix bugs before alpha can be released.

Well, it looks like this is more to do with those Intel CPUs being extremely bad… BIOS updates don’t help the issue completely. More information here:

There are as well videos from Steve & Steve and level1 tech digging into it deeper. Looks like last two generations of i9 are pretty F**********

I will just sumup, L1tech basically contacted as well DCs, the failure rate is above 50%. And as Kayo mentioned BIOS or micrcocode updates will most likely not fix it.

Also Steve is preparing a video to dig into it and explain what he things the problem really is.

but how to update the BIOS using linux ? :slightly_smiling_face:

In dell , it was very easy , I just had to download drivers manually and then copy it in USB and in BIOS , i had to choose BIOS update and navigate to the file in USB and after few seconds it was done , :slightly_smiling_face:

but HP is shit :slightly_frowning_face: , It doesn’t have any docs about it , the only way is through windows , so now what I do is , I manually download their drivers and copy it in windows and then after that I from there manually , but never connect Windows to internet because once it will start updating itself , then there is a high chance that it will blow up garuda boot option and then I will die , because I haven’t used windows for more than 7 yrs and now it is hard for me to do even a single thing in windows that I can do without even putting a single effort on linux.

I’v been wondering, does windows automatically update bios?. Seen some people coming for a bios upgrade after their PC’s bricked. And this are people who know nothing about the existance of BIOS. HP mostly

Yup, it updates BIOS automatically , remember that windows is made novice peoples

But as I said

:joy:So if the update doesn’t go through successfully the whole system is f*** or is there a recovery option. People get charged like 20$ for a bios upgrade “that I think windows updates crash”

20$ for what ??
just booting into BIOS and then starting the system checkups??
or for inserting the recovery USB drive which can be made for windows by any user from his own system , that also without any cost , in just few clicks ??

PS : even though I don’t like windows but those who pay 20$ for such simple things , then I would say to them that
"At least learn windows GUI properly if you can’t understand linux "

Yeah, you know this. A lot of people don’t . You’d be shocked how much people get charged for an “unactivated windows install”

Yepp, that’s how the world is

peoples don’t want learn even a single thing , until it is for money . Otherwise they all are busy in scrolling instagram , tick tock, animes or playing roblox :moyai:

Hey!
ICYM, cosmic-session-git is now on chaotic aur! And now with keyboard shortcuts ported, its better. Also now when you visit the “Power” page in settings, it tells you that you need power-profiles-daemon which it didn’t earlier. Still “Region and language” page doesn’t work for me.

Immediately going to my desk to boot up Garuda and install this!

Thanks for the update. Will make it a lot easier to keep track of the updates for it! Enjoying testing out various theming already.

Hey, can you share a screenshot of the workspaces page in settings? It seems I might be missing on some features…
Here’s mine:

It does spit some errors and the config files are just… weird!

Absolutely, though it will be a little while since I’m working at the moment. As soon as I’m off I’ll grab that for you
