What? What what what!
I’m neither big (any more) nor fat (any more), but hold still for a second so I can whack you with my cane!

Yeah, well, remember I was raised in Dodge City and I can shoot. I used to practice quick draws against a mechanical outlaw at Boot Hill’s museum. That darn guy was fast. Scary looking, too.
Keep it up @bro get mended this forum needs you to brighten up the days
OK, so, basically:
¨You are so ugly you are stupid¨
Ehhhmmm, sure?
Also, Mr Bro has a cane? I can not believe I beat him! I have a walker!
(4 legged reinforced, aluminium made)
Twice !? How can this be. You aren’t supposed to catch it twice after you get it the first time, you can’t get it once more. Was the same or something else !?
Not sure what you are asking here. But I did catch it twice not sure how that happened but it did. I have also been hospitalized for dengue a year or so after that. Always been kinda frail child you see.
I hope the best of health mate, just seamed strange, cause i thought you can’t catch chicken pox twice…
A non-sequitur. Look up the term.
A cane, 2 walking sticks, and a Dolomite Maxi rollator (walker). But mainly, I just…
Meet the Doodah Man, who also lives on my left fore arm.
Photo is 15 years old. I love R. Crumb stuff.
Nothing could have prepared me for the mind bending time it took to compile gcc yesterday… I thought this would be a task of 1-2 hrs at best but oh god was I wrong. The real time isn’t consumed by compilation but testing where it starts making decision trees after compiling each hunk? not sure what that is.
I had initially left makepkg at default 1 thread when the compilation crossed 3 hr time mark I decided enough is enough and cancelled the progress gave 8 threads to the thing saw all my cores were being consumed to full 100% whenever it started making those decision trees and fans ramped up. Left it to compile over night got up in morning to a timed out sudo prompt. Since this time gcc was already compiled only needed to install it.
First time I saw all cores being used at 100% of my laptop’s CPU even games don’t do that.
Do AUR helpers (compile on your system) as opposed to pacman?.. …
P.s I’m too stupid to understand documentation English
AUR “helpers” (mostly garbage) run a script, and at the end use pacman to install the package. Whether they compile, depends on the package type.
I feel like you hate them?
You think correctly. They’re for lazy people who do not want to know/understand the process. Or beginners–who have been poorly instructed. Or–for experienced users who know what to do if the “helper” bails.
Most are poorly coded or ill-maintained. They malfunction.
makepkg is the right way. You got something against doing things the right way?
, I am sorry for installing them. In my defense I just like the names “paru, yay, pamac”, but I rarely even use them. -Wanted to understand what they do beneath the hood better this week.
I ABSOLUTELY endorse your statement, Sir.
Yay had recent (6 mos.?) problems–can choke & bail on common AUR pkgs (personal exp.). Then again,Yaourt had many problems, too.
Ask any of the many impacted users here & at Endeavour Forums just how much they love PAMAC.
Paru is the only one to my knowledge that still performs decently. For now.
But, see, AUR “pkgs” are nothing but scripts. They’re not hard to read or interact with/edit. But sometimes they get outdated or s.th. and it’s nice to be able to just repair ‘n’ run if you can and want to do so.
Once you get a little deeper into it, I think you’ll like the way it all works together.
I get sooooooooo confused one say,s do it this way another say,s do it this way?
What if everyone just worked for a common goal
It just sounds to simple
Never had a problem with Yay i’d say its the best helper out their every other has problems, the user is usually the weakest link Trying to install blind and not reading the comments in the AUR 1st even pkg build fails presented with that.
