Did you use garuda-update?
If, do not update again.

im use garuda-update but after reboot os is crashed and i get black screen after boot

Just use the snapshot and wait for upstream fix.
Did you search the web about?

Change to MarkDown to get back the correct format for terminal text.

yes i searched and nothing work

Seems like some version of a partial upgrade to me.

  1. When restoring your system to a previous state with a snapshot, is everything working again?

  2. We will need you to post your garuda-inxi output.

Garuda (2.7.3-2):
System install date: 2025-03-06
Last full system update: 2025-07-28
Is partially upgraded: Yes
Relevant software: snapper NetworkManager dracut
Windows dual boot: No/Undetected
Failed units:

When I restore the snapshot, sometimes after boot, a black screen is shown
Or when I log in after logging in to Garuda, a black screen is shown and KDE crashes
Now when I click to run programs, KDE gets a service not found error and the program does not run
Unless I run Google Chrome from within the terminal then some things work and the problem is almost fixed but my other problem is that Google Chrome keeps clearing its memory and giving me an error that I need to clear site data so that YouTube opens properly but I have enough space on my OS
And my OS is now broken

Well there you go, I’m a psychic, apparently.

You ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT DO PARTIAL UPGRADES.

You have created a Frankenstein’s monster. Don’t do that again.

To fix your system, run:

garuda-update -- garuda-dracut-support dracut
4 Likes

Make sure you don’s have any IgnorePkg in /etc/pacman.conf and run again

garuda-update

By-the-way, also because:

This should be updated. There is an important announcement on this.

I’m not quite sure what’s happening here. Do you load snapshots over and over?

Yes, usually the power goes out here
and after booting it shows me a black screen
I also have to use one of the snapshots to be able to use the operating system again

I see. You should mention you’re loading snapshots in the future. This is like an undo button on everything we have tried so far, after all.

Run these commands (Copy Paste):

sudo pacman -Rdd dracut garuda-dracut-support
garuda-update -- garuda-dracut-support
sudo /usr/share/libalpm/scripts/garuda-hooks-runner kernel

And please share the full terminal output.

We will investigate if everything is working through the output.

output:

Everything is working now!

We need to reset your snapper now, it stopped working with all the restores.

Run garuda-update remote reset-snapper and post the full output.

Look, my operating system crashed again
And it showed me a black screen again
And I had to reload the snap

And this command runs without output
