Hi all,
This installation finished without giving me a desktop. I do have the bottom icons and the Garuda Assistant etc but not anything else. There's no application menu and a left or right mouse click doesn't show anything. I would have given you the info from "garuda-inxi" but I can't find how to get into the terminal. Perhaps there's a keyboard shortcut? Anyway, I'm assuming that is a starting point. Thaks in advance.

What are you expecting the desktop to be?
I think Alt+F1 or F2 should open the launcher (I’m not in front of my computer to double-check that).
Try Ctrl+Alt+T, Meta+Enter, or Meta+T.
Thanks for the keyboard shortcut. I couldnt get the terminal up directly but managed to access the search function for the application menu. It looks like someone had the same problem 20 days ago and it probably describes my situation better than my post. My screen is black only with the cairo dock. My intention - no intention - just did the installation and hoping to customize once all is loaded. I did nothing special with the installation - just followed the prompts. I had to choose the open source drivers at the installation prompt as proprietary ones just stall the system. Here is the garuda-inxi:
