It feels quite uncomfortable that cloudflare is somewhat openly admitting to analysing login credentials that are going through the reverse proxy, and providing aggregated stats on it (without explicit consent of the user it appears?)
Based on Cloudflareâs observed traffic between September - November 2024, 41% of successful logins across websites protected by Cloudflare involve compromised passwords.
Donât get me wrong the results are actually pretty interesting, but I just cannot think of a ethical way of doing this, and it feels kind of jarring that they just âdid thatâ

The FreeDesktop.org server/cloud migration has begun and may last until next weekend.
Maybe CloudFlare should worry about fixing a authentication they currently have instead of spying on peeps. As for the TOS for the average user they donât apply cause the average user only deals with CF when they go to particular sites.

EDIT: actually Bootkit+Roku in that order.

Honestly here, Iâm starting to lose faith in kde. They are becoming less and less accessibility for people withe limited or no moment disabilities. A lot of these UX changes force me to fly across the states to fix and teach about them. I may honestly have to consider Trinity for for the users I support that navigate with their eyes or mouth.

I wrote a scathing review of recent Dolphin UI changes on the KDE forum recently. I and others were complaining about changes severely affecting the usability of Dolphin. I had been waiting for a fix for months to what I assumed was a bug. When I went searching to see if a bufix was in the works, I was shocked to find out this was a deliberate modification to Dolphin on the KDE Devs part.
Others were complaining of about how the changes destroyed their workflow, as Dolphin had always brightly highlighted the last directory visited while file browsing. The complaints from others had fallen on deaf ears for months as the devs continued to justify why they felt their changes were an improvement.
I attacked the changes not from a usability standpoint, but from the way it negatively affected users with visual and memory impairments. I criticised them for making KDE more difficult to use for users suffering from disabilities, when they claim they are trying to make KDE easier to use for the segment of the population suffering with disabilities.
Up until then every KDE dev that had responded to peoples criticisms had claimed they were justified in their changes. After my post, a dev finally responded that they had listened to their users complaints and they would reverse the changes to Dolphin. Unfortunately, the response didnât sound like reverting the change was a priority and they would get to it when they had time.
At least the devs listened, but when it actually happens is a whole different matter.
Iâve got more the a few âPROPOSALSâ for MicroCrap and WindBlows like fixing your CRAPWARE known as Windows before talking security for Linux. My other proposals if listed would get me arrested.
@tbg just took a look and youâre right itâs gone. For me itâs no big deal, but I can think of a dozen people I know that it is very helpful for. Itâs not the first time they took something away instead of making it an option for those that need it.
