Install stuck after LiveMedia Keyring setup

This is a follow-up to my original topic: Install stuck at “Finished LiveMedia Keyring setup.”

Unfortunately I missed the replies to my post and the thread got auto-closed.

I can confirm that even when using the latest image and booting through Ventoy, then selecting open source drivers for install, it still gets stuck after “Finished LiveMedia Keyring setup”.

You do not post, again, your garuda-inxi.
You can post it from live ISO.

It could be on some hardware, that the mhwd prozess need mor then 5-10-? minutes
I had this on an 2009 "Medion" AMD CPU/GPU Desktop.

Most of the time, help is, to use free drivers, but without your garuda-inxi we are fishing in the dark

Output of garuda-inxi (apologies for the weirdness, I had to OCR it from a photo of the computer screen because I am not allowed to upload photos):

Seems a very new GPU,

GeForce RTX 4090 Graphics Cards for Gaming

](NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090-Grafikkarten)

try to use free driver until the kernel and nvidia drivers include the GPU.

As I mentioned previously, I have already tried to install with the free drivers and the installation hangs at the same place. Is there something else I need to try in order to get the installation to proceed?

Same thing here, I had to do three things:

  1. Create the USB boot drive with Rufus not ventoy
  2. Choose the Free Drive
  3. hang at Live Media Key Ring, let it sit...........................................................................................................................
  4. Wait for at least 4 to 5 minutes and it went on

Once installed I proceeded then to choose the Nvidia drivers etc... Rebbot and no hang at boot off SSD. I will say though it boots quite slower than MX Linux partition.

Now if I can just stop the annoying, startling pop before it plays sound or video I am good. (so he thinks)

Thanks for the reply! I tried the same steps you described but for me it still hangs at the same place. I have left it for 20+ minutes just in case some operation is taking a super long time, but it does not appear that it is going to move past that point in the install.

I faced that issue as well. I use Ryzen 5600G Processors with intergrated Radeon graphics and it does have lots of issue with the graphics driver. The screen goes black screen when I use the the "free driver" boot but it does response with my keyboard and still full black screen. I reboot and edit the grub script on the "free driver" boot option by pressing "e" and deleting "{drivers}.modeset=1" parameter and replace with "nomodeset". But the boot stuck on "[OK] Finished LiveMedia Keyring setup" .

I would love to add my research and discoveries to this issue, but I feel like we are all in the same boat.

My rig consists of a 7950X, a 4090, and a 3090.
I have successfully used either card a few displays on proprietary drivers, but have had 0 luck using xrandr to use the 2 cards and more displays.
My last resort is trying my best to use open drivers, and here I am.
