I give up cause you are making things up as you go.

I CANNOT drop a launched app into IOTM. It’s either before or after the widget.

The alternative is to pin the icon. You launch it from say the KLauncher and you pin to task.

And from there you can place it wherever you want WITHIN the IOTM.

But you probably knew this already, however some day others reading this thread may not and it may help them.

Navi 24 on mine.

Ok, yes. I used to drag icons from the Application Launcher menu directly into the task manager all the time… but as you confirmed, you cannot do it anymore.

I have now switched to the pinning method. But also, it may look like you can drop an app before or after the task manager, but you can’t. It seems you can now only put widgets into the panel, not applications. Yes it used to work the way you are saying, and it still looks like you can because the icons slide over to make room… but if you let go, the app vanishes. You have to use the Quicklaunch widget if you want apps in a panel without a task manager.

I wasted a ton of time trying to figure out why this changed suddenly the other day.

Could you confirm this is the case on your system as well?

I can drag an App from the Application Launcher Menu before or after the IOTM, but not in it. By dragging the app in the Panel, it extends the panel and places the app there. Outside IOTM. It seems it just goes to the end of the panel, I have 2 widgets in it and I wanted to place the app between them, it just dropped completely at the end of the 2nd widget. I can rearrange in EDIT MODE after that, though.

Ah, I see, it sort of creates a widget for the app that you dragged. When I launch it from the Panel, it adds a 2nd icons of the app, useless for me. There is a grouping option, though.

Ok thanks. Maybe the apps are just vanishing for me because my panel resizeability is broken. Either way it just stopped working for me the other day.

It doesn’t really matter, the Quicklaunch widget turned out to be the better way to put apps in a panel without a task manager.

No idea why the panel resize is broken for me… and I’ll probably never figure it out. I’ll wait until there’s a new KDE6-based Dr460nized ISO before I mess with it again. There’s too many variables right now. Also if you do:

kquitapp6 plasmashell
kstart plasmashell

There’s thousands of errors in the terminal. And this is with a new config in a VM too. most of the errors are QImage::pixel coordinate out of range.

Yeah, Mr NVIDIA delayed that for a while. Things are apparently fixed and we are working on finalizing things to get an ISO out. I can’t wait…

I get that too. Probably not related.
