How to desible a very loud beep

Hello,

How can I disable a loud beep that occurs when I close the system, or also when I press any key on the board to erase what I had and there is no more space … terrible if you have the headphones.

Thanks.

Try this one here:

xset -b

or

xset -b off

See also this article: PC speaker - ArchWiki

If it works, add it to a startup file like xprofile where it will be sourced automatically, so you don’t have to re-run it every boot.

Hello,

As always before posting something I always search/read but I almost never understand what I read, because it’s usually very technical, which makes me think that maybe this distro is not for me, I’m not at the level – yes, I had read/seen that article before, I didn’t understand it at all.

I apply the commands you indicate, the beeping continues …

This does not happen with the other systems I have installed on this machine.

Thanks for any suggestions, and if you guys think I am somehow ‘hindering’ too much on the forum, please be frank and then I will uninstall …
