Has anyone managed to run The Last of Us Part I on Garuda? I tried Proton Experimental, Hotfix and GE, all with the same result of a tiny black window appearing for a fraction of a second, and then nothing, although it appears to be “running” in Steam. I also tried some of the launch options suggested, but then not even the black window would appear, and it just stops immediately.
Sometimes when I get “running” on steam but no game is showing up, I can get them back working after a reboot of the system. (I’ve noticed it seems to happen if I shut off my monitors at one point while the system is running)
If that doesn’t work, I know that game can be pretty finicky on what hardware it likes (even on Windows apparently; the Steam discussions are flooded with complaints)

I have The Last of Us Part 2 running i also have the first one but not installed yet. I will download it again and try it to get run on Garuda =)

I installed The Last of Us 1 too. It launches only a warning about outdated driver . Then it crashes on the spinning Medal loading Frame. Funny 
Tlou 2 is working ot of the Box.

I got it running now
testing and see if it crash again or its playable @zoeruda

I’ve played through the last of us 1+2 several times now. So so good. Only on PS4/5 though, never PC

Yes i changed proton Version and some Settings. I dont use Steam for this 2 Games btw. I use Heroic Game Launcher.
How you did install the Game? I have it downloaded as Windows Game and installed over Heroic Launcher and runtime stuff and so on.
These are great Games i like them so that is your choice which one you wanna play. I did part 1 on console (XBOX) and play now part 2 on Garuda.
Thank you for that useful information and for testing it out! I was using Steam so I will look into other ways to run it like Heroic.

I had TLOU1 running on Steam on Garuda Linux, on my pc with a RTX 4070 GPU. Wasn’t much tinkering if I remember correctly (sadly went back to W11 after I got a RX9070). Proton Experimental I think I used for it.
If all else fails just install flatpak steam alongside regular and try that , quite a few games I couldn’t get going properly even trying all the tweaks and flatpak just works
