HDMI Audio not an available sink

Hello Garuda users.

HDMI works on various other Linux installs using kernels 5.19. I verified this issue is not because of Zen.

But HDMI is an output option for the internal sound card, #435, /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.3/sound/card1 as we can see from this (edited)

Being an Arch n00b I’m reluctant to build 5.19 kernel myself, but I think this is an obvious and simple “razor” to apply. I’ll see what I can do on this front.

I don’t yet see how to query Alan to learn if he found resolution. I believe it’s the same as this unresolved issue Alan reported:

I'm gonna refer to the Ubuntu LTS and/or another flavor of Garuda to see if I can compare this system to one that has HDMI Audio functioning.

Here's an Ubuntu Budgie install using the Liquorix 6.2 kernel behaving as I expect.

are you sure the sink is not just disabled? Check the configuration tab in pavucontrol

There is no way to select an HDMI sink via pavucontrol, alas.

Huzzah!!

pavucontrol paints hiding the Configuration tab. Once I discovered this tab I found Profiles for the relevant sink.

Total user error. HDMI is simply a profile of the Playback Device.
