I've got the same issue. seems to be an issue due the new grub / systemd or calmares update.
Also got the same issue installing endavouros with the online installer.
Tried several usb sticks and different isos.
Used the dr4gonized iso and all times a encrypted install with luks.
Im not new to arch or to linux. Maybe considering to research the problem on the calmares installer or something with KDE/NVIDIA.
So that there is a issue in the endavouros iso and also your iso it really seems like a problem on calmares installer and not on user site. before I also runned arch and garudaos. both encrypted.
Using the newest Garuda-daragonized-normal iso. downloaded from SourceForge.
As I mentioned I got the same issue with the endavouros iso online installer kde.
I clean my DISKS everytime completely before installing any distro.
Ill post if the barebone ode install is gonna failing to.
Barebone also failed with the same issue as the other mentioned also in the other threads.
There is really something with the calmares/kde installed. Every time the same issue with gurb got not enough space. But there is enough space left.
God damn. Just wanted to switch from endavour to Garuda. Failed Garuda tried endeavor and they got the same issue. funny
You surely look like one…
The linked topics have never finished troubleshooting.
If you also don’t try troubleshoot, how would we know if and where is the problem?
Act like an Arch user and we can communicate.
We want to fix any bug, but our systems work fine. Cooperate and provide info, so we can find the problem.
Or go to Windows…
Mostly, if EndavourOS is failing which I used a lot of installation also Garuda Linux used on my rig is performing.
both are using calmares installer. Many users reporting the same problem.
Im using linux since 5+ years, also im sysadmin for some business servers and homepages.
Then go for a clean install with LUKS with the newest iso in with kde and Nvidia drivers.
But yeah I should go back to windows after 7 years using linux only. You're welcome man
We are looking for experienced users to answer our questions and not tell us that others have the same problem. I mean this neither maliciously nor disrespectfully, a mere fact.
Because I am often said to be a bit harsh in my posts
So if you’ve been around for 5+years, why the hell are you even asking this question here. Obviously by now if you have the same issue on two different distros and think it’s a calamares issue, then take the issue to calamares.
You haven’t posted any real info for help. I thought you were a sysadmin, and you can’t provide basic info? I’m shocked. Thus far you’re a help vampire at best. If you legit want help, you need to give details.
Not a bad idea. Their installer works great, and you can spam their Microsoft support chat. They like to hand hold people through problems.
If you're an experienced Arch user why don't you test the KDE barebones edition to see if it will install properly for you.
If LXQt installs for you you could also swap desktops post install. I would never suggest that for a Newb, but seeing as how you're a sysadmin you should be able to pull that off.
Sure neither of those options is exactly what you'd want, as it involves far more configuration post install. However, it will give you a working KDE install without all the effort of an Arch install.
