Graphics reset when starting up a Guilty Gear Strive play

Hi. Whenever I try to get into a game on GGST my graphics card resets.

I’ll be honest, I’ve 0 idea how to start or who to tell.

Here’s the output of running dmesg grep amdgpu. It clearly shows a crash but I cant seem to find the dump it talks about.

--- INFO ---
 - A reboot is pending (update applied since last reboot)

✅ System health check passed. No issues found.

I’ve tried validating both proton and the game itself but this looks like a driver issue.

Please reboot and see if that helps anything

Sadly the reboot didnt help it

Take a look here:

Thanks, I’ll give the tweaks a try and reach back. Tho, it was fairly recently that I was able to play it.

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B650-S-WIFI/support

Also..think on the bios update
Make the right settings, after. AHCI mode ..etc

So it has been running w/o any issues so far? Have there been any game updates, or have you changed anything in the game settings or added any mods? When exactly did the problem start, after a system update? Perhaps we can narrow it down to a specific package, e.g. Mesa, Kernel, Wine/Proton, Linux firmware (linux-firmware-amdgpu), etc.

I can certainly tell that it was working on the 19th of December 2025 tho, sadly snapper has no record of the update I took after that day. No changes have been made to the game. I just updated the system.

Checking the pacman cache mesa 3.1.2 was downloaded the 5th of December and I downloaded mesa 3.2.1 the 18th of December. I made the reset a couple days after most likely as I had to maintain an active IRC connection

Edit: Downgrading to 3.1.2 didnt fix the issue

This might look interesting I’ll try to disable this “iGPU“ UEFI setting and see if that fixes it

Please remember that this is not a chat room but a forum. As long as no one has replied yet, please edit your last post if you want to add new information. Keep it tidy, please. Thank you. :slightly_smiling_face:
