Getting an error on startup Garuda Linux 6.2.9-zen1-1-zen (tty1))

It says no such file directory found

that's not supposed to happen. You sure you typed the name correctly?

Its grep HOOKS /etc/mkinitcpio.conf isn't it

yeah it is

Yes I did this only

that's extremely strange. without that file you can't boot into the system. were you able to boot into the system before the update?

Yess I was able to do it but now this came

hmm... let's just wing it.
type

reboot

your system will restart
let's see if your system boots back into a working state or not. If it doesn't we will just roll back a snapshot

Ok did it

when you reach grub tell me

It came back to login page

Thank you so much brother

I appreciate you so much thank you

sure. Though I am still confused why you were unable to access you mkinitcpio.conf but well all is well that ends well. :man_shrugging:

Thank You

i boot into it even i get that error (

Well I hope you can follow the above convo thread and solve the issue. If it doesn't work for you give the details of what failed and where. Though just normally updating garuda with

garuda-update

should do the trick and give an output similar to:

Your default display manager was changed from dm_service to new_dm_service automatically, because the former no longer exists.

replace dm_service with whatever appears there.
If you don't get this message at the end then manual intervention is required.

I’ve got the same problem.

The only thing needed is to type sudo systemctl enable sddm

Good luck

I have the same problem and it was working fine until I restarted my computer like a few 20 minutes ago

well give the details did you try the fixes mentioned? If yes where did you get stuck
