desktop environment

Im on Laptop Hp notebook

I am sorry for confusing you
If you don't know what those are just run

garuda-inxi

and tell me from the output it will output a lot of things at the top you will find

System:
Kernel: 6.2.8-zen1-1-zen arch: x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 12.2.1
parameters: BOOT_IMAGE=/@/boot/vmlinuz-linux-zen

Distro: Garuda Linux base: Arch Linux

Se the DM there DM: SDDM. Tell me what it is for you
Sorry for cofusing you for DE with DM

Ok i ran it now what you want to know please tell

at the top of the output inside the system: tag you see that dm: written there can you tell me what it says for you

if that too is too complicated just tell me what version of garuda you installed. was it the standard garuda dragonized?

Yes it was garuda dragonized the one on left on main site

Actually I am not able to scroll to go to top

ok run

sudo systemctl enable sddm

and tell me what it says for you.

Something like removed "/etc/systemd/system/display-manager.service".
Created symlink /etc/systemd/system/display-manager.service → /usr/lib/systemd/system/sddm.service

that's good
now run

grep HOOKS /etc/mkinitcpio.conf

and read the output see if you can see plymouth in the

HOOKS="... plymouth ..."

the dots mean other stuff alongside plymouth

Nothing came

hmm did you type the command correctly? the HOOKS is case sensetive

Is ther a space between HOOK and /etc??

of course

try to type the command as it is

Wait ill type again

do you see something like

HOOKS="base udev autodetect modconf block keyboard keymap consolefont plymouth resume filesystems grub-btrfs-overlayfs"

at the end of you output? Specifically the plymouth part?

I just want to confirm if it's there in the hooks
