Garuda wont wake back up, laptop

Hi guys. Looks like I’m continuing this saga. So my laptop wont wake back up after it goes to sleep. I am running ROG Zephyrus laptop hardware. The cursor comes up, black screen, have to shut down and start back up to resume what I was doing. This happens when I close the lid or when I leave it running overnight. A “work around” I am open to is this: never allow my computer to sleep. Perhaps someone knows how I can achieve that?
quick note; I have already tried the fix in the following link: Hibernation/suspend not working after update to no avail.
I have searched the forums on this topic and am aware this is an ongoing issue with laptop hardware (or possibly nvidia laptop GPUs)

Please post your garuda-inxi as requested by the template.

The tiresome topic with Nvidia and sleep/hibernate/suspend…

In your other topic it says that you are using Garuda Dr460nized - so KDE.

System Settings → Power Management.

Who needs a computer that goes to sleep anyway? Thanks for the help with that. That seems like it will help.

It might not be looked at often but maybe a warning could be added to the “Considerations and recommendations” bit of the website. At least tell nvidia actually fixes it.

Or maybe adding a button to Rani that adds the lines to kernel modifiers in grub.

My laptop did the same this, but it has an intel mpu. I got tired of switching to a new login terminal and rebooting toon I just disabled sleep as it mostly plugged in anyway.

Pls make a bios update

Did you check the 3 nvidia services over konsole ?

systemctl status nvidia-resume nvidia-hibernate nvidia-suspend

If any of these 3 services is disabled run

sudo systemctl enable nvidia-resume nvidia-hibernate nvidia-suspend

reboot → test the wakup and ?

Take a look for preserve video memory after suspend over

cat /proc/driver/nvidia/params | sort

result like this

OpenRmEnableUnsupportedGpus: 1
PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations: 1
RegisterPCIDriver: 1

if not then you should set

NVreg_PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations=1

inside this in /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-power-management.conf

→ sudo dracut-rebuild → reboot → test and ?

That can also resolve your issue :

systemctl hybrid-sleep

or do this over System Settings → Powermanagement
