Garuda Sway!

So it's easier to change after if the user wants to.

I'll leave it maybe...Comment it out so we have less forum questions about how to change shells?

If the options is there then at the very least one person might take the time to look at it.

Since as far as I see, it's completely redundant...
Commented out would be best.

I doubt that many people even use alacritty, I certainly don’t. I’m just too set in my ways. I use bash with the Yakuake drop down terminal and that isn’t going to change in this lifetime I expect.

I usually have alacritty or kitty, but that's Linux for you...many different tools  I never got into the using a multiplexor like yakuake, except for some years using 'screen' at the University, mainly to prevent disconnects with long running processes.

Gotcha! That shall be my next commit! Must sleep now tmrw! Thank you for all your testing and contributions!

I use the good old xfce4-terminal with fish and starship, everybody how they like

To each their own.

It's because fish is not technically POSIX compliant. You don't want to use it for system scripts. bash is kept as the login shell and fish is manually assigned to the terminal session. /usr/bin/sh symlinks to /usr/bin/bash. Making fish the default login shell would change that. zsh does not have that issue.

Makes sense..that would still be one place to change it (if the user's base shell were bash and the only fish definition were the terminals) if it were implemented in that fashion.

Query: I like the nwg-panel, but I know several people that would hate losing screen real estate on their screen for yet more bars. What are the plans with regard to it: use it, not use it, or don't know yet ?

Hmmm. I do like waybar…

Maybe later but for now I’ll stick with waybar. We already use enough of nwg’s stuff

Lol, ok, yes, we are spotlighting a bit of @nwg work  I might potter about with it and see if I can duplicate the waybar info. It gives me something to do at spare moments.
I think we're getting close to a real alpha/beta release if you ask my opinion.

Ok @dbarron Default shell bash but alacritty uses fish. Everyone's kind of happy enough now.

Is everything working guys?

Sway still crashes will palofetch - we can't have that if we want to release it. Devs is this changing any time?

@librewish wanted to remove this anyway, iirc :eyes:

Yeah I don't want to see it

Just change to neofetch-git

Anyone upgraded to sway 1.6? Numerous applications need ages to startup on my machine, or even don't start at all. Have you experienced the same issue? Seems to be wlroots 0.13-related, as the problem affects my Waybar session, too.

Once this has been done could I request a new (maybe final) iso build.

You can probably also get rid of the -git package too.

Thank You!

Still using the -git package, will change this once the official release comes
