Garuda Rani - preview releases and testing

Yes, the “real” fix is still waiting to be compiling. This one above had one change: catching errors while translation load and printing them.

Is there a way to install/remove different kernels? Or do you need to use settings manager still?

If more features are added, then the whole thing just needs its own kernel to make Garuda Rani a standalone Linux distribution.

btw:

garuda-rani-git 2.2.0.r0.ga9691b7-1

works w/o any issues.

See my post here 6d ago
Now test with both ver. 2.2.0.1 + git + scanner-gui run or without scanner-gui)
same result…
I activate the required checkboxes

→ switch to rani terminal

the tasks run…
log from rani tell me

2025-03-19][12:05:26][INFO][webview:info@tauri://localhost/main-3TDGM4QU.js:30763:16] Executing task: pacman --noconfirm -S scanning-support

[2025-03-19][12:05:55][INFO][webview:info@tauri://localhost/main-3TDGM4QU.js:30763:16] Executing task: systemctl enable --now saned.service

rerun rani and the checkboxes shows this

i can scan without prob + the same with the drag460
rani doesn’t know scanner support is installed + saned is running
or i misinterpret something.

My post was about Garuda Rani being blank and not showing anything. I should have added that, but it was a bit late for me yesterday (or rather this morning). :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Is everybody OK? There has not been an update to Garuda-Rani for at least an hour. I’m worried you have all been hit by a bus.

We are nerds, the only bus that could hit us is the front-side bus.

I’m on KDE lite today, so Rani doesn’t fit :face_with_tongue:

I have installed Garuda Kde Dr460nized new and changed to rani-git.

Its to big now and i cant change the heights off it only the wide is working. I was able on mokka to move behind the Top panel and sizes the heights from the bottom worked.

Use Top line and move down (hold left MB) than move rani up.

I did doing these but it wont work on Kde. On Mokka it worked also i noticed the Panel Colorizer didnt work right too. Didnt safe my settings and changed background color to grey little funny

Kernels cool i dont see yet on my git rani.(want install over Garuda Assistant the Zenver3 , LTS and Clear but only installed Lts and Clear no Zenver3)

ps. worked now after the update and Kernels also visible

Whoa, Kernels…

I installed wine-wow64 but noticed that Rani shows WINE as not installed, I assume because it’s only looking for the wine package.

wine is not compatible with wine wow-64 if im right and wine-wow64 includes it IIRC so i uninstall wine and if some launcher need it it download itself the wine needed packages or ask for it like wine-gecko. What youre try to install ?

Yes, that’s true, It might make sense to include it as separate package - that is the difference?

Edit: got it, see:

scanning support = enabled …good work @nico
The thing is with the saned. This daemon looks over the network for client ↔ host scanning. (firewall + network must be configured correctly of course for sane)

but rani saned checkboxes show not “running”

Sorry, Nico ..for your todo-list

Just fixed that one, we only checked systemd services and had to expand it to sockets as well. Thanks!

Besides…
