I’m surprised you went with Tauri considering how broken it is for linux right now. It depends on libwebkit2gtk which has horrible performances. Modrinth, a popular minecraft launcher, is built with Tauri and… well… look for yourself: GitHub · Where software is built

At lot of people are reporting 100% CPU usage on one core, perfs that degrades as the window gets bigger, crashes, etc. I haven’t looked too much into it but, I’ve heard they can’t fix it until Tauri supports CEF.

Have you noticed similar issues?

I just found that it does the same thing if I right click to open the main webpage from a search engine. It doesn’t open the page. It just downloads that file

Congratulations. Great work. Garuda flies higher!

2 posts were split to a new topic: I am trying to use Google DNS as default

Hate to be that guy, but am I the only one who can’t boot Broadwing from a usb stick? This morning, I installed Bird of Prey on the same machine using the same stick without a problem. Now when I try to install Broadwing, I get a black screen when booting. I have waited for several minutes but nothing has happened. Am I missing something?

Congratulations on the launch!!!

It seems I rejoined the flock at exactly the right time!

Gotta admit, Rani looks amazing. Having all the cool Garuda assistants in one place is going to be great

Woo Hoo! I installed it along side of Arch for now until I get everything moved over. Only problem is it didn’t find my arch install so I gotta fix the boot loader but glad its finally here! It being t Dr4gonized Gaming, of course.

Yea this is a issue for me as well. I have my RebornOS, Garuda from last April’s ISO, and this installed and rather in this or Reborn as I am now Garuda on /dev/nvme0n1p4 is not showing on either Grub menu, and when I do update-grub it’s not listed. I know it’s there cause when I launch GParted I see it with 50 some gigs being used. Odd thing is it should show cause I was just walked through changing it’s name in the EFI partition and it is the one that I renamed so both my installed Garuda’s should show on whichever Grub menu I’m was using. The old one under the changed name and the new one from today’s ISO under the default name.

 ~  sudo update-grub  ✔  12:30:24 PM

EDIT:

I should add I really don’t care if I have to delete the one Garuda from the last ISO cause I have the new one installed and because other than a few extras in Garuda Reborn is the same apps, tweaks, and look and feel.

Yeah. I ran os-prober and update-grub to no avail. It said it was there and that it was configuring arch into grub but when rebooted it still wasn’t in the grub menu. I’m not too plussed because I’m already reinstalling stuff on garuda. I might add that you guys have outdone yourselves. Its beautiful!

This is a huge milestone release for the distro!

Incredible job to everyone involved over and under the hood.

The theming for the new flagship edition, the new Rani that ships with it, the forum AND the website all having a consistent design language is something that is truly unique to Garuda. And it’s a damn good design at that :cat::coffee:

Is there a way to get the Mokka global theme on the Dr460nized edition, for those who would like to follow along but not nuke their system?

Right in there!

Its a bit manual work vs if you just install Mokka ISO. But the guide is well written.

Broadwing is fast and snappy. I am still amazed how the team manage to keep the ISOs at 3GB and under, while other distros is way above reaching 4GB sometimes.
