So I have no clue what to do. system is complaining its out of date but i can not update it. Internet works fine because im typing this post from FireDragon browser.

@jasonkack please read

I can provide a text file with the full output of the command. The forums wont let me post it because it sees a bunch of links

Use Garuda PrivateBin upper right on this page.

hehe awesome here is the link

We need input and output from terminal.

Do you use

garuda-update

?

Sometimes just try again the update and it works

I first tried using the garuda assistant and it fails like in the output.
I then tried pacman -Syu and was suggested to use garuda-update and that fails again.
And if i manually use garuda-update here is the output below

Did you change something?
Update works here

System updated!

No I have it install in a dual boot with winblows and I have been gaming on win to much lately so I had not booted in Garuda in a while. So its like 2 months since last update. Seem to be complaining about ssl

Try editing this file and change

To
Defaults editor=/usr/bin/micro
If you cannot edit the file due to the same error, try
sudo EDITOR=/usr/bin/micro visudo
And uncomment or edit the relevant line.

That solved that problem. Don't know how that happened since I didn't change anything to default config apart install a game or 2 with steam. But i still cant update

I keep getting errors complaining about ssl local certificate:
error: failed retrieving file 'garuda.db' from cdn-cn-mirror.chaotic.cx : SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate

I also redid the repo setup saying i don't want to use https and only look for usa mirrors with http. then when i start update it updates everything except garuda saying failed to download Garuda.db then it rediscovers there mirrors and turns https again and i'm back to square one.

The automatic mirrorlist discovery can be disabled (with --skip-mirrorlist or SKIP_MIRRORLIST=1). I don't know about the chaotic-mirrorlist though.
Maybe some of those also support plain http, I think you could try editing the 's' away in /etc/pacman.d/chaotic-mirrorlist and comment out all the far away ones.
Who knows, once it manages to update maybe the missing SSL stuff will work again.

I second this. Try some other mirrors with http until you get one that works. It should be supported by most per docker-mirror/chaotic.conf at 52bf440b58ec44722d701b4dcfbd2af578c80a6e · chaotic-aur/docker-mirror · GitHub

Check first to see if a mirror is down, else you will get CDN
https://status.chaotic.cx/

you said that you haven’t been using garuda for months. Have you tried to refresh the mirrorlist? When I installed garuda from iso and tried system update I kept getting the error that I failed to download the package database. I tried two things:

garuda-update remote fix

when this didn’t work out I tried this tutorial:

The command to refresh keys seemed to work for me though you can try the other commands in order just to make sure you don’t miss out on something stupid.

That solved my issue thank you very much!
