Garuda Dragonized install problems

Attempted reinstall of Garuda dragonized gaming edition after wiping drive. Initially I booted in with Nvidia drivers and it stalled at 'Keyring' as reported here. I then attempted booting in with free drivers, and get hung up on Graphical interface.

Tried ventoy and rufus iso writers to no avail and tried updating and re-downloading iso with same result.

Are there any workarounds for this issue? I note others have had similar issues, which were resolved by using free drivers, but this did not work for me.

Using RTX 3060, intel 9600k

Please post the terminal/konsole input and output as text (no pictures) from the the following command:

garuda-inxi

from live ISO.
Did you check shasum?
Full name of the ISO is?

Great advice SGS. Going into terminal on a hung up system is pure genius. How does one go about doing this? F1+CTRL+ALT is simply not something a mere mortal can achieve on a system that has crashed, but I earnestly await your devine techniques and black magic to put life back into a failed iso.
What, can I perchance have gained by running garuda-inxi? What will I have learned about this freshly copied iso? What can you have gleaned that is not already known?

The iso is garuda dragonized gaming edition, downloaded freshly from garuda's website. See, I could answer that without running inxi.
That's how clever I am.

I would try the "normal" version or Xfce (different kernel).

Sorry, I must have overlooked the fact that the live ISO does not want to start.

No need to be as passive aggressive, thanks.

you can try the “normal” dragonized version of garuda. It has worked for some people and then install what you need from garuda gamer. Since dragonized gaming edition is esentially the same it comes with packages in garuda gamer preinstalled.

also no need for aggression.

It gives us detailed info of your system and the services that failed. It gives us an insight in what might have gone wrong in your system for your installation to be hung at “keyring”.

Sometimes yes you can. even on a crashed system pressing ctrl+alt+f2 or a simple shortcut if you are not in a graphical session yet is alt+ → can at times get you tty2. Speaking from personal experience.

you truly are one of a kind genius if you think that people here are wizards who can apparate inside your house or mind read you to know what could be the issue with your system with no info to go on except the iso name.

Sounds like it might be related this (pretty recent) issue?

You both use an RTX 3060 so this might be it. Unfortunately, no resolution was found and it seems to be an NVIDIA issue.
If you can get into a tty as suggested by previous posts to determine if this might really be the issue, that’d be good. - otherwise, good luck out there.

A list of things attempted:
Booting with nvidia graphics - keyring hang, can access tty although I see no practical use as I cannot scroll up to get full output of inxi:

Booting with OS drivers - hangs at graphical interface

Booted live media with BIOS only using onboard graphics on cpu and using OS drivers - hangs at graphical interface. Thus showing this isn't an Nvidia issue.

Downloaded freshly from sourceforge rather than garuda, with same results.

And I've already tried various combos of arrow up+Shift / pageup+CTRL / Shift+CTRL+PgUp / fn+SpinningRound+WearingSpectacles+StandinOnOneLeg to scroll through terminal in live boot tty.

alias | grep tb
alias tb 'nc termbin.com 9999'

Use

garuda-inxi | tb

in tty and post the link.

Alias not found, termbin account not found.

I show only the way  the alias in Garuda shell configs

Try

garuda-inxi | nc termbin.com 9999

I’m having the same/similar problem. Just built a new PC with AMD 7800X3D and a Strix 4080 GPU. Been running Garuda for a year and loving it on a mini work PC, but really having issues with the installer on this new PC, lost count of how many variations I’ve tried with BIOS settings etc.
Install freezes - gets as far as “Reached target Graphical Interface” and then stalls after “Finished LiveMedia Keyring setup”.
I tried the Ventoy workaround with Grub to no avail, have also disabled secure boot and using open source drivers selected in the Garuda install menu. It boots into Ubuntu live CD without any issues. I’m a bit of a noob -so feeling out of my depth -any help appreciated. Possible common theme I’m seeing on these reports is having windows pre-installed? I have it on its own NVME drive intended on installing Garuda to another separate drive -but not getting as far as the installer GUI!

Assuming you do have Windows installed and running. Turn off fast startup in Windows, and anything even somewhat similar in the BIOS. You also want full hardware recognition so turn off anything like that in the BIOS.

Have you checked the checksum of the ISO? Try balena etcher, or rufus if ventoy doesn’t work. Or try another USB if none of these were the issues.

Nan/Bro - greatly appreciate both your comments which have led me to get significantly further:
I used balena and also a much newer iso (which may possibly have introduced a different issue -but at least I have successfully installed now! The ISO image I used is garuda-dr460nized-linux-lts-231008.
I now reach the normal graphical login screen - but oddly when I enter my details and login -the system completely freezes back to the terminal -and I cannot enter anything (nor access another terminal with CTL+ALT+F2!). I’ll see if there are other builds I can try out later today, my suspicion is now with the graphics system & possibly my RTX4080… but as ever staying open minded!
