hello , any help would be graetly appreciated ..... after the update that caused issues with plymouth-sddm (i believe it was named that) i lost the ability to see the garuda boot menu....... is there a way to fix this or atleast a way to load snapper snapshots from the tty menu?

Hi there, welcome to the forum.
Try to boot from a live USB.
You'll find tools like "Garuda boot repair" or you'll be able to reinstall the GRUB.
In case of troubles there is also a tutorial to do it manually.

the boot menu works i just cant see the graphical interface, would that still be a grub issue ? im talking about the menu that you can choose to boot with different kernels or snapshots, just before garuda boots into the os

Please post output from

cat /etc/default/grub | grep GRUB_TIMEOUT

as text.

evidently the body seems unclear with such a short reply , so im sorry about this useless sentence.

GRUB_TIMEOUT=5
GRUB_TIMEOUT=5

There is certainly a problem of understanding here. :slight_smile:
So the menu items for kernel change and snapshot selection are missing?

Have you made any changes?
Used the grub customizer?

the whole screen is gone, the only thing that i see during the startup is a black screen with a single under score ( _ ) .... after that boot timeout i see a black screen with 3 dots ( . . . ) until my login screen is loaded..... however i can navigate the menu from looking at the menu on another computer ..... and i haven't made any changes to grub or used a grub customizer
