Sorry again, just use to the Manjaro way (been there for a few years), going through some issues IRL Here is the other topic Gammastep failed to start

Ok sorry for adding this, I don’t think I can post in Gammastep failed to start anymore.

wrote under your other post how to do it right.

So what .log(s) should I post? @tbg sorry for the other post. I tried to reproduce it, but it acts like it will open now. The curser has the bouncey symbol, but when it stops, nothing.

hi

so what is the point of using geoclue ? Gamma step ?

I know that was in the Garuda iso last year . Combined with redshift for i think for Desktop behavior. But i didnt used it and uninstalled the geoclue completly. Also there was a kind of privacy issue if i remembered correctly.

Just for using it for the Nightlightsettings?

Oh, Privacy issues.Justing looking for a way besides .ICCC files to change gamma. Can’t seem to find one with .50 gamma. OMG Nvidia get the control center working for Wayland already.

??? did you dont see it?

i dont have nvidia btw and their issues.

Oh ok, thanks. That one makes a white tint for me.

yeah its not god when its to white. I dont have nvidia and cant test this behaviours but maybe you have settings in the Monitor to correct colors gamma and so on. i do have this options on my monitor just an idea.

You know I had the KTC m32p10 returned it & kept my LG Ultragear 32GR93U-B. Ya, stupid choice. My LG is repolarized glossy though.

lol i dont like glossy screens

Nvidia has already come out they wont be touching that tool again as it can’t function as it used to under wayland. If though you really want stuff like this you have to get wayland devs on board to make a protocol.

So we we never get a Nvidia Wayland Control Center??? Am waiting for the Battlemage 7xx cards. I may switch. Do I need to reinstall, or since the kernel has the AMD/Intel driver, can I just boot up?

Did you try xgamma?

i did a bit research and found this here…

if you dont have pacseek you should install it.

sudo pacman -S pacseek

open it also in the Terminal with type in pacseek

then in the search line looking for xgamma and press enter to install it

after the install also in the Terminal

xgamma -gamma 1.0

for the 1.0 you can adjust it to 0.5 or 1.2 how you want = enter

ps. after a reboot or logout this setting is gone. For that maybe a to create a script.
Test it and let me know

i was on x11 Session and checked on Wayland too should work.

xgamma in wayland??

jupp worked on my side . I just cant test with an nvidia GPU

Wondering if I should go intel when the Battlemage 7xx cards come?

thats up to you but newer hadware new problems lol . may wait a few month before its implemented to work good. Im sorry but i dont understand why people want the newest stuff and then wodering if they have any issues. Are you in battle with someone to show how big your balls . loool just joking but hey the technics getting better anyway so would you uprade all the time is just waste of money. Whatever is your choice

I just thought Nvidia didn’t really like linux, but if they are ok I will stay Nvidia. Intel’s price for new cards are better. I heard abour a new util for LED/Backlight controle called Shimmer, but can’t find it. At 11:27

i did see his videos too already few days ago. it isnt bad but there is so many stuff out there you never be able to sort it at all lol  Garuda is a very good Linux and i like it at all. I did test many linux OS since years but since 2024 july i stay here mostly and the stuff works great. Those mean a huge THANKS to the Team. Just wait and give it time  i also did my own ubuntu iso but dont like all work on it or didnt have time and all hardware stuff. Coding is another skill and it never stops  :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :innocent:

ps wrote a apllication for gamma control work o my pc lol
