Gamescope-git conflicting files

I had gamescope-plus originally installed and removed that to install gamescope but steam (native) stopped working because of gamescope flags all over the launcher.

After uninstalling gamescope to try and replace it with gamescope-git I am now getting this error. Is there are way to fix it?

Is it safe to delete them?

No, it’s not safe. You need to ask the maintainer of gamescope-git to fix their package.

As I suggested in the linked topic, since this is something not in our hands and probably not so critical (although I’m not a gamer), wouldn’t it make sense to try removing gamescope-git (at a quick look it seems it’s just an optional dependency for other packages) and proceed with the update / KDE6 migration?

There’s a chance upgrading with garuda-update -- --overwite='*' may work.
There’s also a chance something (gamescope most likely) will break doing that.
It’s unsafe, proceed at your own risk.
Better remove it, upgrade, try the package from extra and if that errors out too just wait for a fix upstream (I bet it won’t take long).

I ended up manually deleting the files and installing gamescope-git. Nothing seemed to work and I couldn’t even reinstall the stable release of gamescope because of the dependencies. Someone else also asked the maintainer of gamescope-git to fix the dependency issue a month or so ago. So just gave up and deleted the files knowing I was risking breaking my OS install. I didn’t think of use the garuda-update -- --overwite='*'.

So far things seem to be working. Well I am back to at least being able to load Steam again and the back to the state I was in before installing the stable version of gamescope.
